How service charge works here
What it is
Resorts in the Maldives add a service charge to guests’ bills, and staff get a share of it each month on top of their basic pay. It follows how busy the resort was, so it changes by month and by resort.
How a figure gets here
A resort’s month shows once 3 or more different people working there have reported it and our team has checked the reports (we show their median), or when the resort or the press published it (with the link).
One person, one month
Amounts are what one person got for the month. Reports in rufiyaa are turned into US dollars at a fixed MVR 15.42 to the dollar.
