• Your account is run by Clerk. We keep your email address and what you add: your profile, your Job Radar, the jobs you track, your applications and, for employers, your job posts.
• Cookies: this site’s __careersmv, careersmv-theme and cmv_interest (the kinds of jobs you open, for recommendations), Clerk’s sign-in cookies, and Stripe’s while you pay. The cookie page lists them.
• We count how often each job is shown in a list, per day, without recording who saw it.
• Vacancy text you paste into AI-assisted posting is sent to Anthropic’s API to turn it into a draft.
• Jobs you save without signing in stay on your device.
• No advertising, and no analytics or tracking scripts on this site.

Welcome to the Privacy Policy for Careers Maldives. This document outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our services.

We collect personal information that you provide to us when you use our services. This may include your name, email address, contact information, and any other information you choose to provide.

We may use your personal information to provide and improve our services, communicate with you, customize your experience, analyze usage trends, and for other legitimate business purposes.

We don’t share your personal information with third parties except as described in this Privacy Policy.

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You may choose not to provide certain personal information, but this may limit your ability to use certain features of our services. You can also review and update your personal information by contacting us.

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.

This site’s session cookie carries a few things from one page to the next:

• one-off notices, such as the confirmation after you do something, removed as soon as they are shown;
• jobs you saved while signed out, when your browser runs without scripts (otherwise they stay on the device, see below);
• jobs whose apply link or email you opened, so the job page can say you applied;
• the job you are writing in Post a job, until you publish it.

It is signed, so the server can tell if it has been changed, and your browser keeps it for 30 days after it was last updated. The theme cookie holds one word, light, dark or system, and lasts 365 days. Signing in uses Clerk’s cookies.

The cmv_interest cookie is first-party and lasts 90 days. When you open a job, it counts the job’s topics: its role, department, category and island, as codes such as occupation:chef*3. It holds nothing else: no job ids, no searches and nothing about you. The home page reads it to recommend similar jobs and to offer an alert for a topic you keep coming back to. It is not linked to your account, and you can delete it at any time. The cookie page has the details.

When you save a job without signing in, the list is kept in your browser’s local storage. It is not sent to us on its own; when you sign in, the jobs move to your account.

In the CareersMV database:

• your account: the email address you signed up with, and whether you are an employer or an admin;
• your job seeker profile, if you make one: what you enter, and your CV file;
• your Job Radar, if you set one up: the roles, departments, industries, islands, atolls and employment types you picked, whether you want resort or government jobs only, your minimum pay, and when you last opened it;
• jobs you save or track, the stage you set for each (applied, interview, offer and so on), your notes on them, the companies and places you follow, your job alerts, and the applications you send on CareersMV, with a copy of your CV;
• for employers: the company details, job posts, applications received, Boosts and CareersMV Pro bought through Stripe;
• if you ask to manage a company page: the details you send with the request (name, job title, email, phone, your message), notes of any call we make to the company to check it, and any documents you upload, such as a letter from your company or your staff ID;
• counts of views, apply clicks and saves per job, recorded with a one-way code instead of who you are;
• impressions: how many times each job was shown in a list on each day, as one number per job per day. Nothing about who saw it is recorded, and visits from search engines and other bots are not counted.

Admins and employers with CareersMV Pro can browse job seeker profiles in the candidate pool. Messages sent through the contact form are emailed to [email protected]. Reports about a listing are also kept in the database, with your name and email address, so admins can check the listing and record what they did; other messages are not stored on the site.

• Clerk runs sign-in and accounts.
• Stripe takes payments from employers; card details go to Stripe, never to us.
• Resend delivers our emails, such as job alerts, application emails and contact messages.
• Anthropic’s API processes vacancy text: what an employer pastes into AI-assisted posting, to turn it into a draft they check before publishing, and public job listings when CareersMV sorts them into roles, categories and places. Do not paste personal details into AI-assisted posting that should not be processed.
• CVs and company logos are kept in cloud file storage, and listings in a search index.
• Share buttons are plain links: nothing is sent to X, Telegram or WhatsApp unless you click one.
