What an employer post must include
A job posted on CareersMV cannot be published without:
- the job title, at least one category and the job type;
- where the job is: the island, atoll or resort;
- how the job is worked: on site, hybrid or remote;
- a description of the role in a few sentences, with at least one responsibility and one requirement;
- how to apply: on CareersMV, by email or through a link;
- a closing date, at most 60 days ahead.
Resort jobs can also say whether the job is live-in or live-out, and the accommodation, meals, service charge, rotation and transport.
Free posting and its limits
Posting a job on CareersMV is free. To keep the listings useful and stop spam, free posting has reasonable-use limits:
- up to 5 live jobs at a time and 5 new posts or reposts a day for a company page that has not been verified;
- up to 50 live jobs and 30 a day once CareersMV has verified the company page;
- editing a live job is always free and does not count as a new post.
Verified companies
A company page is marked verified only after the CareersMV team has checked that the people managing it work for that company. Pages made from collected vacancies can be claimed by the company, for free; a claimed page is still only marked verified once the team has checked it. CareersMV never shows a verified mark it has not checked.
Duplicates
- A company cannot have two live jobs with the same title. Edit or close the live one instead of posting it again.
- The same vacancy often appears on more than one site. CareersMV links the copies to one record, so it is shown and counted once, and the original source is kept.
Pay on the listing
Employers can add pay as a range or a fixed amount, with its currency and period. When a listing has none, it says “Pay not listed”. CareersMV never estimates or fills in pay, and salary figures on the site always say they are advertised pay.
Listings collected from public sites, such as the Gazette, show the pay when the notice gives it, and say “Pay not listed” when it does not.
The real place of work
Every job posted on CareersMV names where it is: the island, atoll or resort. Collected listings show a place when the source gives one; most Gazette notices do not.
How the job is worked
Employer posts say whether the job is on site, hybrid, remote or shift work, with the office days or the shift rota when there is one. For collected listings we only show working days, hours and hiring steps the original notice states.
Featured means a paid Boost, always labelled
A job marked Featured has been Boosted: its employer paid MVR 499 for it, or used one of the 3 monthly Boosts that come with CareersMV Pro. A Boost pins the job above the latest jobs for 14 days and puts it first in matching job alerts.
Every Boosted job carries the Featured label wherever it is shown. Boosts never change the order of the other listings, never change search results for a search the job does not match, and never hide that the placement was paid for.
How long listings stay up
- A post from an employer stays live for 30 days, or until its closing date if that comes first. The employer can close it earlier.
- A collected listing stays live until its closing date. One without a closing date leaves search 60 days after it was published.
- After that a listing leaves search, but its page stays up for old links, marked as closed or expired.
Listings collected from other sites
CareersMV collects vacancies every hour from Gazette, Job Maldives and Job Center. They keep the source’s wording, are marked with its name and say “Apply at the original source”, with a link to the notice. Ownership of each listing stays with its source.
AI-assisted posting
Employers can paste a vacancy they already have and get a structured draft. The draft is only a starting point: it must not add requirements, pay or benefits the pasted text does not state, and the employer checks and edits every field before publishing. The employer is responsible for what the published job says.
How listings are checked
Posts go live when the employer publishes them, within the limits above; they are not reviewed first. If a listing is out of date, misleading or breaks these standards, report it with its link. The report goes to the CareersMV team, who can close the listing.
