Main responsibilities and duties of the post

-1 Providing guidance to trainees according to the standards specified in the assigned subject or subjects
-2 Regularly monitoring trainees' work and providing constructive feedback
-3 Checking the progress trainees are making, recording it, and sharing that information with the relevant parties that need to know
-4 Handing over to a supervisor and all matters to be handed over regarding teaching (Scheme of Work, Lesson Plan, Mark Sheet, etc.) in accordance with established procedures and handover accordingly
-5 Making trainees familiar with Islamic religion and the laws and regulations of the Maldives, students' codes of conduct and school regulations, and instilling proper values and customs in trainees
-6 Attending classes according to the timetable handed over and relief periods as scheduled, and continuing to fill gaps in a way that benefits trainees
-7 Coordinating and managing the subject handed over
-8 Carrying out all tasks necessary to improve trainees' standard without exception
-9 Teaching all children, including those with moderate intellectual disabilities, to read and write
-10 Regularly sharing information with parents regarding trainees' education and training
-11 Maintaining discipline in the classroom concerning leave matters
-12 Attending all gatherings organized by the school on schedule
-13 Participating in special activities conducted by the school and carrying out other tasks within the school's scope of work as assigned.
-14 Using all school facilities (library, internet, smart board, etc.) in the most beneficial way for trainees
-15 Working to make the school a welcoming and healthy environment in which people of all backgrounds feel included
-16 Being answerable and responsible regarding duties assigned by the school
-17 Trainees performing work entrusted to them to keep the school a clean and hygienic place
-18 Actively participating in clubs, sports and other activities organized for trainees and providing full assistance and cooperation.

Requirements of the post

Teacher, Rank 3

  1. Possessing a Bachelor's degree at level 7 or 8 of the Maldives National Qualification Framework from the teaching field, and possessing a qualification at level 9 of the Maldives National Qualification Framework from the education/teaching field, with 4 years of service in the position of Teacher, Rank 2.

or;

2. Having completed a Bachelor's degree at National Qualifications Framework level 7 or 8 in a field specialised for the subject taught, along with a qualification at National Qualifications Framework level 5 or lower from the teaching field and a National Qualifications Framework level 9 qualification from the education sector, serving 4 years as a Teacher, Rank 2.

or;

3. Possessing a Bachelor's degree at level 7 or 8 of the Maldives National Qualification Framework from a field designated specifically for teaching, and possessing a qualification at level 9 of the Maldives National Qualification Framework from the teaching field, with 4 years of service in the position of Teacher, Rank 2.

or;

4. Possessing a Bachelor's degree at level 7 or 8 of the Maldives National Qualification Framework from the teaching field, and possessing a qualification at level 10 of the Maldives National Qualification Framework from the education/teaching field.

or;

5. Possessing a Bachelor's degree at level 7 or 8 of the Maldives National Qualification Framework from a field designated specifically for teaching, and possessing a qualification at level 5 or lower of the Maldives National Qualification Framework from the teaching field, and possessing a qualification at level 10 of the Maldives National Qualification Framework from the education/teaching field.

  2. A readable copy of both sides of the card proving that the applicant is a Maldivian citizen (even if the validity period has expired), or if the ID card is lost, the applicant's birth certificate, passport or driving licence.
  3. If a staff member with a service agreement to serve the Civil Service / Government is transferred to this position, a letter issued by the office providing the service stating that there is no objection to leaving the position.
  4. Copies of educational certificates obtained;

(a) For educational certificates issued by institutions outside Maldives that have been graded by the Maldives Qualifications Authority at a certain level, copies of the educational certificate and transcript; or: in cases where there is no certificate, a copy of the letter confirming completion of the course and a copy of the assessment report and transcript issued by the Maldives Qualifications Authority.

(b) Copies of educational certificates and transcript issued by local educational institutions in Maldives; or copies of letter confirming completion of the course and copies of transcript.

  1. Copies of documents covering the following criteria providing work experience:

(a) If work experience has been gained in a civil service post, in a state institution, in a government-owned company, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(b) For work experience within the civil service that cannot be verified from https://myaccount.csc.gov.mv/, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period (in years, months and days) confirmed by that office, and stating the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(c) If work experience has been gained in a private company or private organisation, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) and the number of staff at the workplace.

(d) If work has been undertaken in a national or international association or society, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, and the period (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each). This letter should state whether the position held is a salaried position or not, or alternatively, an official letter from that organisation confirming this.
