1- Carrying out all the work necessary to teach and teach in and outside the classroom in order to achieve the standards set in the national curriculum.

2- Preparing lesson plans and managing classroom environment and other activities required for students to attain the "key competencies" specified in the national curriculum.

3- Monitoring practical work undertaken by students and preparing papers for various tests given to students and administering tests.

(d) Marking assignments and assessment papers related to the subject taught, unit test papers and term test papers, and marking papers of tests conducted to assess or improve students' achievement.

5- Maintaining records of student achievement and progress.

6- Sharing necessary information about learner progress with guardians, school staff and education sector personnel.

(c) Monitoring practical work undertaken by students and preparing papers for various tests given to students and administering tests.

(d) Marking student work, assessment papers, unit test papers, term test papers and papers for tests provided to identify or improve student achievement or progress in relation to the subject taught.

(e) Maintaining records of student achievement and progress.

(f) Sharing information about student progress with parents, school staff and education authorities as necessary.

  1. In the absence of teachers, carrying out the responsibilities of those teachers with the guidance of the school management.

Requirements of the post

Teacher, Rank 3

1- Holding a Diploma at Level 7 or 8 of the Maldivian National Qualifications Framework in the field of teaching or a Bachelor's Honours degree, together with a Master's degree at Level 9 of the Maldivian National Qualifications Framework in the field of teaching or education, and having worked as a Teacher, Rank 2, for 4 years.

or;

2- Holding a degree at Level 7 or 8 of the Maldivian National Qualifications Framework in a field specialised to the subject being taught or a Bachelor's Honours degree, together with a Diploma at Level 5 of the Maldivian National Qualifications Framework in the field of teaching or an equivalent or higher qualification, and a Master's degree at Level 9 of the Maldivian National Qualifications Framework in the field of education, and having worked as a Teacher, Rank 2, for 4 years.

or;

3- A degree or Bachelor's Honours degree of Level 7 or 8 of Maldivian National Qualifications Framework from a specialised field as specified in the relevant regulations, along with a Master's degree qualification of Level 9 of Maldivian National Qualifications Framework from the teaching field, with 4 years of service in the position of Teacher, Rank 2.

4- A degree or Bachelor's Honours degree of Level 7 or 8 of Maldivian National Qualifications Framework from the teaching field, and a Doctoral degree qualification of Level 10 of Maldivian National Qualifications Framework from the educational/teaching field.

or;

5- A degree or Bachelor's Honours degree of Level 7 or 8 of Maldivian National Qualifications Framework from a specialised field as specified in the relevant regulations, and a Doctoral degree qualification of Level 10 of Maldivian National Qualifications Framework from the educational/teaching field.

  1. Copies of documents covering the following criteria providing work experience:

(a) If work experience has been gained in a civil service post, in a state institution, in a government-owned company, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(b) From civil service experience, employment in positions whose experience periods are not visible on https://myaccount.csc.gov.mv/, with the period of employment and (in years, months and days) and responsibilities of the employment (even if employment has been in different positions in one institution) stated separately, certified by that office.

(c) If employment has been in a private company or private institution, a letter certified by that office stating the employment, the period of employment (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the employment (even if employment has been in different positions in one institution) stated separately, and the number of staff employed at the place of work.

(d) If work has been undertaken in a national or international association or society, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, and the period (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each). This letter should state whether the position held is a salaried position or not, or alternatively, an official letter from that organisation confirming this.

(e) If work has been undertaken in a dissolved state institution, or in a dissolved private company or private organisation, or in a dissolved national or international society or association, and a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period of work (in years, months and days) and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) cannot be obtained, the "Reference Check Form for Work Experience from a Dissolved Workplace" found in Table 8 of the Recruitment Rules.

Exception given when changing the position of an employee in the Teachers' Job Metrics post

If an employee in a post under Teachers' Job Metrics (from that time's specialization) transfers to or retires from a Teacher's post in a Civil Service organization, the salary shall be fixed at the rank held at that time. And in cases where the conditions for a lower rank than the rank held at that time are met, the salary shall be fixed at the lower rank that meets the conditions. However, if an employee in a post under Teachers' Job Metrics transfers to or retires from a Teacher's post in a Civil Service organization of a different specialization other than the specialization held at that time, then if the "Educational Standard" stated in the School Teachers' Job Metrics is fully met, the salary shall be fixed at the lower rank that meets the conditions. And in cases where the conditions for a lower rank than the rank held at that time are met, the salary shall be fixed at the lower rank that meets the conditions.
