Main responsibilities and duties of the post

  1. To provide information to persons seeking hospital services regarding hospital services and to assist and resolve any issues that arise.
  2. Providing information to people who call seeking information about the services provided by the hospital.
  3. To listen to and resolve complaints relating to services provided by the hospital.
  4. Observing whether patients waiting while doctors are seeing other patients have any problems, and if there is no one in the doctor's room, providing that information to people waiting in the queue and managing those matters.
  5. To maintain floor activities.
  6. To work to ensure that services provided by the hospital are of good standard and are provided in a way that is satisfactory to the persons seeking the services.
  7. To provide relevant information to the units/departments concerned after observing how persons seeking services view matters relating to the services.
  8. Responding to phone calls received to the Customer Service Section's hotline.
  9. Assisting in providing services to VIP guests and providing services promptly.
  10. Obtaining information about persons involved in emergency cases and assisting in informing the relevant parties.
  11. Providing information that needs to be given in emergency cases to the relevant authorities.
  12. Engaging with all people coming to the hospital and assisting and welcoming them with hospitality and treating each person equally.
  13. Noting down and resolving issues that arise during duty in accordance with regulations, and after resolving resolvable issues, resolving unresolvable issues under the guidance of a senior present at that time.
  14. Handing over matters that have arisen on duty and pending matters to the officer assigned to the next duty shift in an orderly manner with proper notes.
  15. Obtaining information that needs to be provided to customers and providing that information.

A Diploma at Level 5 of the National Qualification Framework in a field related to the position or a Level 6 / Advanced Diploma / Associate Degree qualification from the Maldives.

Scope of work of the post:

Work related to administrative management and administration, human resources, finance and related technical work, and study and administrative work.

(NOTE: If the applicant holds a qualification related to a core discipline or preferred discipline, such applicant shall be awarded points allocated to the core /preferred discipline in the criteria.)

Documents to submit

  1. Complete civil service employment application form (this form can be obtained from the Civil Service Commission website https://www.csc.gov.mv/Policy/Index/51 and from Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital's website http://igmh.gov.mv and the counter on the 11th floor of Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital).
  2. Details of the applicant (including contact phone number and email address).
  3. A readable copy of both sides of the card proving that the applicant is a Maldivian citizen (even if the validity period has expired), or if the ID card is lost, the applicant's birth certificate, passport or driving licence.
  4. If a staff member with a service agreement to serve the Civil Service / Government is transferred to this position, a letter issued by the office providing the service stating that there is no objection to leaving the position.
  5. Copies of educational certificates obtained;

(a) For educational certificates issued by institutions outside Maldives that have been graded by the Maldives Qualifications Authority at a certain level, copies of the educational certificate and transcript; or: in cases where there is no certificate, a copy of the letter confirming completion of the course and a copy of the assessment report and transcript issued by the Maldives Qualifications Authority.

(b) Copies of educational certificates and transcript issued by local educational institutions in Maldives; or copies of letter confirming completion of the course and copies of transcript.

  1. Copies of documents covering the following criteria providing work experience:

(a) If work experience has been gained in a civil service post, in a state institution, in a government-owned company, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(b) For work experience within the civil service that cannot be verified from https://myaccount.csc.gov.mv/, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period (in years, months and days) confirmed by that office, and stating the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(c) If work experience has been gained in a private company or private organisation, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) and the number of staff at the workplace.

(d) If work has been undertaken in a national or international association or society, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, and the period (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each). This letter should state whether the position held is a salaried position or not, or alternatively, an official letter from that organisation confirming this.

(e) If work has been undertaken in a dissolved state institution, or in a dissolved private company or private organisation, or in a dissolved national or international society or association, and a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period of work (in years, months and days) and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) cannot be obtained, the "Reference Check Form for Work Experience from a Dissolved Workplace" found in Table 8 of the Recruitment Rules.
