About the role

A consultant pulmonologist is needed to diagnose and treat respiratory diseases and conditions at Tree Top Hospital in the Maldives.

What you would do

  • Obtain comprehensive history, perform and interpret pulmonological exams and tests to aid in the diagnosis of pulmonary diseases and conditions, including CT…
  • Diagnose and treat conditions, such as asthma, bronchitis, and emphysema
  • Diagnose and treat allergic disorders related to pulmonology
  • Diagnose and treat sleep disorders
  • Perform various specialized procedures to acquire samples of the chest wall lining or the lungs for further analysis
  • Provide therapeutic interventions including therapeutic thoracentesis, chest tube insertion, bronchoscopy for treatment of respiratory conditions
  • Provide immunizations against preventable pulmonary diseases
  • Maintain detailed notes of appointments with patients, including comments, tests and/or treatments prescribed, and test results
  • Refer patients to cardiothoracic surgeons and other specialties when necessary
  • Provide support and advice to patients receiving long-term care

  • Board Certified / Unencumbered License or registration from home country
  • Minimum Post Graduate Specialist Degree in Respiratory Medicine
  • Minimum 6 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities
  • Additional Fellowship / Boards preferred
  • Adaptable and able to work in a multicultural team
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English
