About the role

The U.S. Embassy in Maldives seeks an IT and Mailroom Support Clerk to provide technical support for IT systems and manage mailroom operations.

What you would do

  • Provide technical support for IT systems and troubleshoot hardware and software issues
  • Maintain IT equipment
  • Ensure efficient mail distribution and processing
  • Support all mailroom functions
  • Serve as primary local liaison with airport authorities and mail handling contractors
  • Sort and process incoming diplomatic pouches
  • Drive mission personnel safely and efficiently

What they are looking for

  • Completion of Secondary School Certificate (SSC and G.C.E. O/Level)
  • Minimum 2 years professional experience in IT support including troubleshooting/technical assistance and/or mailroom operations
  • Fluency in English in speaking, reading, and writing with ability to translate
  • Fluency in Dhivehi in speaking, reading, and writing with ability to translate
  • Detailed understanding of IT security best practices, smartphone hardware and maintenance, networking, and hardware/software troubleshooting
  • Good understanding of service desk management and escalation principles
  • Valid, current licence for driving two- and four-wheel vehicles in the Maldives
