Main responsibilities and duties of the post
- Maintain court operations according to established procedures.
- Perform necessary duties for payment of bills for services received and goods purchased according to regulations.
- Maintain court cash and related documents.
- Prepare financial reports and submit to designated parties within specified timeframes.
- Maintain and update asset register.
- Update court inventory and stock records daily.
- Procure items required by the court according to government financial regulations.
- Prepare payroll sheets before the 17th of each month and file all salary-related documents.
- Receive funds from various parties according to established procedures, maintain received funds, issue receipts on the day of receipt, arrange payment through bank transfer, issue receipts after payment, and if funds are received for other sections, transfer all financial matters within 2 days to relevant sections.
- Fidelity Payment Vouchers are to be prepared every week on regular weekdays and Mondays, filed after verification by the officer, and if any funds need to be collected in relation to issues, these funds are also to be sent as soon as possible.
- Conduct all administrative work related to cases submitted to the court and perform necessary work in case committees.
- Arrange all witness travel arrangements.
- Maintain expense records and all records related to fixed expenses. Scan and file all financial-related documents.
- Prepare documents according to established procedures for maintenance work in the court and supervise the work. Prepare maintenance-related budget estimates.
- Prepare and maintain Sharia council meetings.
- Attend relevant Sharia matters and conduct Sharia-related transactions.
- Prepare case schedules using case management.
- Recording statements.
- Scan and file administrative documents related to cases.
- Perform all administrative work related to Sharia.
- When an employee is assigned work of another employee who is on leave, perform that work.
- Additionally, perform all official duties assigned by the court management that fall within laws and regulations according to regulations.
Additionally, carrying out official duties assigned by the Court and maintaining all documents related to Court responsibilities according to established procedures.
- Requirements of the post
Hold a Level 4 qualification in relevant fields from the Maldives National Qualifications Framework.

(a) Aunt or uncle (including step-aunt and step-uncle); or
(b) Mother or father (including step-mother and step-father); or
(c) Sister or brother (including half-sister or half-brother, or sister or brother through step-relations); or
(d) Son or daughter; or
(e) Child (including nephew and niece and grandchild).
Documents to submit
- Application form for a vacancy in the fully staffed Legal Department. (This form can be obtained from GDh. Fiyoaree Magistrate Court. And it will be published with this announcement.)
- Details of the applicant (including contact phone number and email address).
- A copy of both sides of an identification card showing the applicant is a Maldivian citizen, with clear written details, or a legible copy of written documents. If the ID card is lost, a copy of the birth certificate, passport or driving licence of that person.
- If the applicant is a civil servant with an agreement to serve the government, a written confirmation from the office where the applicant is employed that there is no objection to leaving the current position.
- Copies of educational certificates obtained;
(a) For educational certificates issued by institutions outside Maldives that have been graded by the Maldives Qualifications Authority at a certain level, copies of the educational certificate and transcript; or: in cases where there is no certificate, a copy of the letter confirming completion of the course and a copy of the assessment report and transcript issued by the Maldives Qualifications Authority.
(b) Copies of educational certificates and transcript issued by local educational institutions in Maldives; or copies of letter confirming completion of the course and copies of transcript.
- Copies of documents covering the following criteria providing work experience:
(a) If employed in a government institution or a government-backed enterprise, a letter issued by that office stating the position held, the duration of the post (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (with each responsibility in different posts in the same department listed separately).
(b) If employed in a private company or private organisation, a letter from that office stating the position held, the duration of employment (in years, months and days), the responsibilities of the post (even if work was done in different positions within the same organisation), and the number of employees in the workplace where the work was carried out.
(c) If employed in a national or international organisation or association, a letter issued by that organisation stating the position held, the duration of the post (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (with each responsibility in different posts in the same department listed separately) (this letter must state whether the position held was a salaried post or not; or alternatively, official correspondence from that organisation stating the matter should be submitted).
(d) If employed in a state-owned agency, or an established private company or private organisation, or an established national or international organisation or association, and no letter can be obtained from that office stating the position held, duration of employment (in years, months and days), and responsibilities of the post (even if work was done in different positions within the same organisation), the "Reference Check Form for Experience at Designated Premises" listed in Table 6 of the Recruitment Procedure.
