Main responsibilities and duties of the post

Technical

  1. After checking the identification of samples coming to OPD and IPD and samples coming from other institutions, examine them.
  2. Liaise with the relevant parties to obtain information needed for the analysis to be carried out, and provide information needed by the patient in the most complete manner.
  3. Carry out tests required in duty in accordance with standard procedures and process in the same way, and prepare reports promptly upon completion of tests.
  4. Write the results to be recorded in the registry correctly, check thoroughly and maintain them, and answer any questions arising regarding test results.
  5. Performing quality control checks on tests conducted in the laboratory and maintaining records in accordance with regulations.
  6. Carry out special laboratory tests and work to further complete the tests carried out.

Administrative

  1. Keep the laboratory clean and hygienic and manage it together with maintaining a working environment in the laboratory, and inform staff accordingly.
  2. Maintain stock of consumables, reagents and chemicals required to carry out tests in the laboratory, and inform the responsible party before stock runs out and before expiry.
  3. Carrying out daily maintenance of machines and equipment maintained in the laboratory, carrying out maintenance that needs to be done once a week and maintaining records of this, and informing the responsible parties if any of these are missing.
  4. If complaints from parties seeking services with the laboratory or from other parties are reviewed and resolved, informing the responsible parties of the resolution.

Being aware of the difference between blood and blood type and working in a manner that ensures an environment where samples can be examined easily, and while working together with other staff you work with, supervising other staff while working in accordance with the prescribed regulations for their safety.

(a) If work experience has been gained in a civil service post, in a state institution, in a government-owned company, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(b) For work experience within the civil service that cannot be verified from https://myaccount.csc.gov.mv/, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period (in years, months and days) confirmed by that office, and stating the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(c) If work experience has been gained in a private company or private organisation, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) and the number of staff at the workplace.

(d) If work has been undertaken in a national or international association or society, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, and the period (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each). This letter should state whether the position held is a salaried position or not, or alternatively, an official letter from that organisation confirming this.

(e) If work has been undertaken in a dissolved state institution, or in a dissolved private company or private organisation, or in a dissolved national or international society or association, and a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period of work (in years, months and days) and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) cannot be obtained, the "Reference Check Form for Work Experience from a Dissolved Workplace" found in Table 8 of the Recruitment Rules.
