Main responsibilities and duties of the post

  • Fisheries, mariculture, other animal husbandry, aquaculture, poultry, animal husbandry and forestry sector projects, formulating these matters strategically, combining investment programmes, and sourcing necessary resources.
  • Formulating and combining investment projects that yield results necessary for conservation and blue economy development, respecting state development policies and international standards.
  • Planning departmental infrastructure, conducting assessments to identify needs, and identifying investment opportunities.
  • Working to increase private sector participation, and liaising with development partners regarding work matters. Additionally, overseeing and liaising all matters of projects without a dedicated Project Management Unit (PMU).
  • Preparing projects and investment plans for annual, medium-term and long-term periods, and in addition preparing funding proposals and investment packages.
  • Identifying investment opportunities needed for fisheries and aquaculture sectors, and organising and conducting investment forums and consultations.
  • Introducing new technologies to the department, and operating and conducting pilot projects based on innovations such as
  • Assisting in strategic project implementation to support the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (MSME), and formulating concepts for projects to be implemented through PPP (Public Private Partnership) and PSIP (Public Sector Investment Programme) principles.

Requirements of the post

1- Having obtained a Doctoral Degree at Level 10 of Maldives National Qualification Framework and having worked for at least 2 years in a related field. Or

2- Having obtained a Master's Degree at Level 9 of Maldives National Qualification Framework in a field related to the post and having at least 4 years of work experience in the field of the post. Having gained at least 2 years of management experience within this period. Or

3- Having obtained a Degree or Bachelor's Honours Degree at Level 7 or 8 of Maldives National Qualification Framework in a field related to the post and having at least 8 years of work experience in the field of the post. Having gained at least 2 years of management experience within this period.

5- Copies of educational certificates received;

(a) For educational certificates issued by institutions outside Maldives that have been graded by the Maldives Qualifications Authority at a certain level, copies of the educational certificate and transcript; or: in cases where there is no certificate, a copy of the letter confirming completion of the course and a copy of the assessment report and transcript issued by the Maldives Qualifications Authority.
