Responsibilities and duties of the post
- Conduct physical examinations as required to assess the physical and mental health status of the patient.
- Obtain additional information from the patient and the patient's family members as necessary to assess the patient's health status.
- Request necessary tests to assess the patient's condition and review the results of those tests and provide care accordingly.
- Provide advice to the patient, provide care and counselling, provide guidance to protect the patient from disease, and monitor the patient's condition accordingly.
- Assist in performing necessary medical procedures and operations required for care.
- Refer the patient to specialist doctors and the patient's special centres and hospitals required for care when necessary.
- Record the patient's health information in writing and share that information with those who need to have it shared with them.
- Providing information required to be provided to various parties in accordance with legal and technical obligations, and assisting in research and investigations related to the field of work.
- Referral in cases where unforeseeable circumstances appear before or after working hours, and in cases requiring careful handling and referral.
- Participation in conducting and implementing programmes aimed at raising public awareness in work related to public health protection.
- Providing care to individuals who come seeking health services with certain injuries and illnesses.
- Participation in providing health services in cases of personal health emergencies, during times of national disasters and in situations where epidemics are emerging.
- Determining cause of death according to a prescribed manner and criteria in cases of mortality.

5. Copies of all educational certificates obtained;
(a) Copies of educational certificates issued by institutions outside the country accredited by the Maldives Qualifications Authority at the level specified, and copies of transcripts; or: in cases where there is no certificate, a copy of the letter of course completion and a copy of the assessment report issued by the Maldives Qualifications Authority and a copy of the transcript.
(b) Copy of educational certificates and transcript issued by a tertiary education institution in the Maldives; or copy of course completion letter and transcript. (Course completion letters (Course Completion Letter) from tertiary education institutions in the Maldives, excluding Maldives National University, Islamic University of Maldives and Civil Service Training Institute, are considered valid only if the letter includes the course registration number issued by the authority to the institution to enable the Maldives Qualification Authority to 'Batch Validate' it to the relevant authority).
6. Copies of documents that serve as evidence of work experience in the following categories:
(a) If employed in a Civil Service post, in a state institution, or in a state-owned enterprise, a letter issued by that office stating the post held, the period of employment (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (even if employment has been in different posts in one institution).

Appointment to the post shall be made to a person who meets the following 2 criteria.
1. Obtaining a minimum of 25 (twenty-five) points out of the total points allocated for the Interview and Presentation, and
2. Obtaining the total points allocated to the minimum criteria stipulated for all items of the criteria allocated to the post.

- Being registered with the Maldives Medical Dental Council and holding a (Basic) license
