Main responsibilities and duties of the post

Main work

1- Carrying out all matters relating to granting permission to parties wishing to import chemicals into the Maldives, under Act No. 75/4.

2- Arranging and granting permission for the inspection of warehouses for storing chemicals, in coordination with the MNDA.

3- Preparing and maintaining registers such as registers of chemicals requiring monitoring and permission, chemicals not requiring permission, prohibited chemicals, and chemical sellers, in relation to chemicals imported into the Maldives under the Chemical Weapons Convention, the Prohibited Items Act and the Regulation on Hazardous Chemicals.

4- Carrying out all matters relating to the disposal of chemicals imported into the Maldives that must be disposed of under Act No. 75/4, and keeping the register of disposed chemicals updated.

5- Reviewing and studying information on chemicals proposed for import into the Maldives, classifying chemicals requiring permission and those not requiring permission, and advising on how the chemicals will be handled.

6- Developing the section's strategic action plan, preparing a budget for the section's planned activities, and working to achieve the targets set for the section.

7- Maintaining information on permitted chemicals, chemical warehouses and chemical importers in the electronic system.

8- Providing technical advice to parties drafting bills and regulations that the Ministry must prepare under the signed and ratified international agreement (Chemical Weapons Convention) and under Act No. 75/4 (Prohibited Items Act of the Maldives).

9- Carrying out the work required to implement all matters in the Regulation on Hazardous Chemicals made under Act No. 75/4.

10- Carrying out work required in coordination with other government agencies regarding the granting of permission for chemicals imported into the Maldives.

5- Copies of educational certificates obtained:

(a) Copies of certificates issued by a higher education institution outside the Maldives that have been assessed and graded by the Maldives Qualifications Authority, with transcript copies; or, where no certificate is held, a copy of the course completion letter, a copy of the AQA assessment report issued by the Maldives Qualifications Authority, and a transcript copy.

(b) Copies of educational certificates issued by a higher education institution in the Maldives, with transcript copies; or a copy of the course completion letter with a transcript copy.

6- Copies of documents relevant to the following categories showing work experience:

(a) Previous experience gained in a civil service post, in a state institution, or in a company in which the government holds shares, including the duration of the post (stated in years, months and days) and the main responsibilities (even where posts within the same institution were held), issued by that office as a separate statement.

(b) Previous experience gained in civil service, where the duration of the experience not shown on /https://myaccount.csc.gov.mv is clarified, including the post held and the duration of the post (stated in years, months and days) and the main responsibilities (even where posts within the same institution were held), issued by that office as a separate statement.
