Main responsibilities and duties of the post

  1. Conducting necessary studies to identify what work needs to be done to provide the water and sanitation service in a sustainable manner.
  2. Providing assistance and support in studies being conducted to identify the condition of waste management systems in islands across the country.
  3. Preparing water resource conservation and management plans for inhabited islands and conducting work needed for implementing them, in order to carry out the work needed to formulate a National Water Resources Management Plan.
  4. Providing assistance in preparing feasibility and design for integrating stormwater under integrated water resource management.
  5. Actively participating in preparing an efficiency rating scheme related to tools and means needed for maintaining water quality and for using water in a sustainable manner.
  6. Carrying out work assigned to the employee from among the work specified in the master plan and sector work plan.
  7. Providing necessary assistance in the scoping phase of environmental impact assessments related to water and sanitation systems.
  8. Attending and assisting in awareness programmes and workshops held regarding water and sanitation.

Requirements of the post

Holding a diploma of level 5 or a level 6 / advanced diploma / associate degree qualification of the National Qualifications Framework of Maldives related to the educational field of the post.

  5. Copies of educational certificates obtained;

(a) For educational certificates issued by institutions outside Maldives that have been graded by the Maldives Qualifications Authority at a certain level, copies of the educational certificate and transcript; or: in cases where there is no certificate, a copy of the letter confirming completion of the course and a copy of the assessment report and transcript issued by the Maldives Qualifications Authority.

(b) Copies of educational certificates and transcript issued by local educational institutions in Maldives; or copies of letter confirming completion of the course and copies of transcript.

6. Copies of documents as specified below demonstrating work experience:

(a) If work experience has been gained in a civil service post, in a state institution, in a government-owned company, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(b) For work experience within the civil service that cannot be verified from https://myaccount.csc.gov.mv/, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period (in years, months and days) confirmed by that office, and stating the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(c) If work experience has been gained in a private company or private organisation, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) and the number of staff at the workplace.

(d) If work has been undertaken in a national or international association or society, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, and the period (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each). This letter should state whether the position held is a salaried position or not, or alternatively, an official letter from that organisation confirming this.

(e) If work has been undertaken in a dissolved state institution, or in a dissolved private company or private organisation, or in a dissolved national or international society or association, and a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period of work (in years, months and days) and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) cannot be obtained, the "Reference Check Form for Work Experience from a Dissolved Workplace" found in Table 8 of the Recruitment Rules.
