Main responsibilities and duties of the post
- Teaching the standards set in the national curriculum both within the classroom and outside the classroom, and carrying out all the necessary work to achieve this.
- Using lesson plans and classroom environments and conducting additional activities as needed to ensure that students acquire the "key competencies" set out in the national curriculum as necessary for students.
- Managing practical work carried out by students and preparing papers for various tests conducted for students, and administering the tests.
- Marking students' books and assessment papers, unit test papers, term test papers, and papers for tests conducted to assess or improve student performance, in relation to the subject being taught.
- Maintaining records of student performance and progress.
- Sharing information necessary with parents, school staff and educational department personnel regarding student progress.

- A Bachelor's degree or Bachelor's with Honours at level 7 or 8 of the Maldives National Qualification Framework from the Teaching/Education field, and a Master's degree at level 9 of the Maldives National Qualification Framework from the Teaching/Education field, with 4 years of service in the position of Teacher, Rank 2.
or
- A Bachelor's degree or Bachelor's with Honours at level 7 or 8 of the Maldives National Qualification Framework from a field specialised for teaching the subject, a Diploma at level 5 of the Maldives National Qualification Framework from the Teaching/Education field or a lower qualification, and a Master's degree at level 9 of the Maldives National Qualification Framework from the Education field, with 4 years of service in the position of Teacher, Rank 2.
or

(a) For educational certificates issued by institutions outside Maldives that have been graded by the Maldives Qualifications Authority at a certain level, copies of the educational certificate and transcript; or: in cases where there is no certificate, a copy of the letter confirming completion of the course and a copy of the assessment report and transcript issued by the Maldives Qualifications Authority.
(b) Copies of educational certificates and transcript issued by local educational institutions in Maldives; or copies of letter confirming completion of the course and copies of transcript.
- Copies of documents covering the following criteria providing work experience:
(a) If work experience has been gained in a civil service post, in a state institution, in a government-owned company, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).
(b) For work experience within the civil service that cannot be verified from https://myaccount.csc.gov.mv/, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period (in years, months and days) confirmed by that office, and stating the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).
(c) If work experience has been gained in a private company or private organisation, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) and the number of staff at the workplace.
(d) If work has been undertaken in a national or international association or society, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, and the period (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each). This letter should state whether the position held is a salaried position or not, or alternatively, an official letter from that organisation confirming this.
(e) If work has been undertaken in a dissolved state institution, or in a dissolved private company or private organisation, or in a dissolved national or international society or association, and a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period of work (in years, months and days) and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) cannot be obtained, the "Reference Check Form for Work Experience from a Dissolved Workplace" found in Table 8 of the Recruitment Rules.

Exemption given in replacing the employment of a staff member in a post in the current Teacher Job Metrics
If a staff member in a post in the Teacher Job Metrics (with specialization at that time) transfers to the post of a Teacher in a Civil Service department or has retired, employment shall be confirmed in the rank held at that time. And in cases where conditions are met for a higher rank than the rank held at that time, employment shall be confirmed in the higher rank that meets the conditions.
