Main responsibilities and duties of the post
- Supply and use of required tools and equipment within set limits and procedures
- Sterilization of equipment required for specimen collection
- Setting up, cleaning and maintaining laboratory equipment.
- Checking that laboratory requisition forms and specimen tubes are available.
- Handling hazard fluid or tissue-like items from the specified guidelines and principles.
- Examining the specimen in accordance with the specified sample sizes and principles set for the scheduled tests
- Conducting tests to be performed in the laboratory
- Transporting specimen or fluid samples safely from the collection points/stations to the laboratory
- Providing information to patients on the procedure for collecting fluid or sample
- Licenses and refresher training required to work in the post are mandatory
Having obtained registration from the Medical Laboratory department of Maldives Allied Health Council.

(b) Copies of educational certificates and transcript issued by local educational institutions in Maldives; or copies of letter confirming completion of the course and copies of transcript.

- Copies of documents covering the following criteria providing work experience:
(a) If work experience has been gained in a civil service post, in a state institution, in a government-owned company, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).
(b) For work experience within the civil service that cannot be verified from https://myaccount.csc.gov.mv/, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period (in years, months and days) confirmed by that office, and stating the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).
(c) If work experience has been gained in a private company or private organisation, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) and the number of staff at the workplace.
(d) If work has been undertaken in a national or international association or society, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, and the period (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each). This letter should state whether the position held is a salaried position or not, or alternatively, an official letter from that organisation confirming this.
