What they are looking for
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar role at a five-star luxury hotel or resort.
- Strong skills in pastry, bakery, cakes, plated desserts, chocolate work and dessert presentation.
- Experience preparing desserts for buffets, à la carte restaurants and special events.
- Ability to develop recipes and maintain consistent taste, quality and presentation.
- Ability to manage daily pastry production and meet service deadlines.
- Experience supervising, training and supporting the pastry team.
- Knowledge of HACCP, food safety, hygiene and proper food storage.
- Skills in stock control, portion control, food costing and waste reduction.
- Ability to prepare desserts for dietary requirements and manage food allergens.
- Good communication, teamwork and organisational skills.
