Main responsibilities and duties of the post
- Obtaining and maintaining the reagents and chemicals and consumables necessary for conducting laboratory tests, and ordering and obtaining materials as needed.
- Maintaining the laboratory inventory. Preparing and maintaining laboratory statistics, and submitting necessary information to medical records in accordance with regulations and sending reports.
- Registering patients coming to the laboratory in the logbook or computer system, receiving specimen samples, recording in order and maintaining.
- Collecting samples from patients coming to the laboratory into designated containers and conducting authorised tests in accordance with standard procedures.
- Conducting authorised tests in accordance with standard procedures at the bedside of patients (IPD) in the ward for sample collection.
- Maintaining confidentiality of test results and other records of patients coming to the laboratory and not engaging in any unethical conduct contrary to medical laboratory ethics.
- Following special policies and regulations in the disposal of medical waste and engaging staff in this matter.
- After reviewing patients' reports thoroughly, checking the reports in accordance with the procedures set for issuing reports before issuing them.
- Assisting in the operation and development of the laboratory.
- Assisting in resolving any issues that arise in providing laboratory services to patients and seeking solutions that should be communicated to the laboratory management.
- Practically participating in work to be done in health emergencies, pandemics and epidemics.

(b) Copies of educational certificates and transcript issued by local educational institutions in Maldives; or copies of letter confirming completion of the course and copies of transcript.
- Copies of documents covering the following criteria providing work experience:
(a) If work experience has been gained in a civil service post, in a state institution, in a government-owned company, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).
(b) For work experience within the civil service that cannot be verified from https://myaccount.csc.gov.mv/, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period (in years, months and days) confirmed by that office, and stating the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).
(c) If work experience has been gained in a private company or private organisation, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) and the number of staff at the workplace.
(d) If work has been undertaken in a national or international association or society, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, and the period (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).
