Main responsibilities and duties of the post

  1. Assisting dentists in providing various types of treatment related to dental diseases.
  2. Assisting in arranging for patients to receive various types of treatment related to dental diseases they need, through doctors specialised in that field, without any delay.
  3. Assisting the doctor in examining patients according to the number provided to patients coming to see the doctor, and responding to phone calls coming to the doctor's counter and OPD counter.
  4. Explaining matters that arise between the doctor and patient clearly to both parties, and assisting the patient during the doctor's examination.
  5. Completing bills (IPD/OPD) prepared according to fixed rates after providing services to ambulances/aides/police and other parties, and submitting reports before 12:00 each day.
  6. Preparing bills in accordance with the fixed rates after providing services to Ambulance/Airlift/Police and other parties.
  7. Daily sales, transaction cancellation reports, and invoices (cash/credit) along with bills, handing over the cash, receipts and items received at the counter to the hospital office before 08:30 on any given day.
  8. Obtaining reasons from the responsible person for cancelled bills and resolving the matter.
  9. When a staff member working at the counter leaves the office, performing tasks handed over from the office.
  10. For services provided under credit, preparing invoices for daily bills in a manner consistent with the original bills.
  11. Maintaining cash/cash balance in the reception counter of the hospital and safekeeping of files and documents.
  12. Supervising, in accordance with regulations, the work of staff working in the OPD and the work of SS grade staff working in the OPD area.
  13. Cancelling transactions that need to be cancelled after checking whether bills have been entered into the account of the service provider.
  14. Before starting each duty, checking the inventory of the consultation rooms and replenishing low stock before patients begin to be seen.
  15. Taking part in the Primary Health Care Revitalisation Programme (PHC) programme work.
  16. Taking part in practical activities and meetings of the various activities run at the hospital, in accordance with regulations.
  17. If a problem arises with equipment used in the consultation rooms, bringing it to the attention of the relevant parties without delay.

Requirements of the post

Holding a certificate of level 4 or an advanced certificate from the educational sector concerned with the post, within the scope of national qualifications in the Maldives.

  5. Copies of educational certificates obtained;

(a) For educational certificates issued by institutions outside Maldives that have been graded by the Maldives Qualifications Authority at a certain level, copies of the educational certificate and transcript; or: in cases where there is no certificate, a copy of the letter confirming completion of the course and a copy of the assessment report and transcript issued by the Maldives Qualifications Authority.

(b) Copies of educational certificates and transcript issued by local educational institutions in Maldives; or copies of letter confirming completion of the course and copies of transcript.

  1. Copies of documents covering the following criteria providing work experience:

(a) If work experience has been gained in a civil service post, in a state institution, in a government-owned company, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(b) For work experience within the civil service that cannot be verified from https://myaccount.csc.gov.mv/, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period (in years, months and days) confirmed by that office, and stating the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(c) If work experience has been gained in a private company or private organisation, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) and the number of staff at the workplace.

(d) If work has been undertaken in a national or international association or society, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, and the period (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each). This letter should state whether the position held is a salaried position or not, or alternatively, an official letter from that organisation confirming this.

(e) If work has been undertaken in a dissolved state institution, or in a dissolved private company or private organisation, or in a dissolved national or international society or association, and a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period of work (in years, months and days) and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) cannot be obtained, the "Reference Check Form for Work Experience from a Dissolved Workplace" found in Table 8 of the Recruitment Rules.
