Main responsibilities and duties of the post

  1. Conducting interviews and participating in interviews for positions required at the hospital for recruiting foreign employees
  2. Checking and verifying the employment approval expiry for foreign employees, extending, viewing the application status through the expert online system, and ensuring all EA is up to date
  3. Checking the expiry date for payment of visa fees for foreign employees through the expert system, sending payment requests daily to the departments that require them, and obtaining payment advice by the deadline
  4. Upon receiving visa fee payment, preparing the work visa form and sending it to Finance
  5. Checking the work visa card expiry date for foreign employees, requesting the Finance Department to allocate the funds needed for the card before expiry, and upon receiving the funds needed for the card, submitting the request through the expert system for the card and handing over the work visa card to the employee
  6. Making arrangements for completing the accommodation of foreign employees before they arrive in the country and arranging their transport from the airport
  7. Checking the expiry date of foreign employees' contracts, informing the employee's supervisor, renewing the contract for continuing employees, and informing those not continuing
  8. Checking the insurance due date from the rules for foreign employees and requesting insurance
  9. Completing the documents required for foreign employees' ticket and medical refund and sending to the Finance Department every month
  10. Preparing documents and forms required for foreign employees
  11. Conducting work related to finalising the employment of Medical Officers and Specialists
  12. Preparing doctor stamp and requesting stamp through store portal
  13. Upon receiving a signed offer letter from the foreign employee, compiling the documentation required for pre-registration from the virtual counter and submitting
  14. Performing all administrative tasks related to finalising the employment of Medical Officers, Specialists and Allied Health Professionals.
  15. Conducting all recruitment procedures through Maldivian Medical Officers and Specialists portal

Possessing a degree at National Qualification Framework level 7 or 8 or a Bachelor's Honours degree in a field related to the duties of the post from a recognised institution.

  1. Completed Civil Service job application form (this form can be downloaded from the Civil Service Commission's website and gazette).
  2. Details of the applicant (including relevant phone number and email address)
  3. A copy of a document proving the applicant is a Maldivian citizen, that the card has not expired, showing both sides of the card, and a copy of any written documents that are legible.
  4. A letter issued by the office from which the employee is working stating that there is no objection to leaving the current position if the employee has an agreement to work with the Civil Service / Government.
  5. Copies of educational certificates obtained;

(a) A copy of educational certificates and transcripts issued by external institutions from secondary education standards set and graded by the Maldives Qualifications Authority; or: in cases without a certificate, a copy of a course completion letter and a copy of an assessment report issued by the Maldives Qualifications Authority and a copy of the transcript

(b) A copy of educational certificates and transcripts issued by domestic secondary education institutions in the Maldives; or a copy of a course completion letter and a copy of the transcript

  1. Copies of documents covering the following criteria providing work experience:

(a) If employed in a Civil Service post, in a state institution, in a government-funded organisation, a letter issued by that office stating the job held, the duration of employment (showing years, months and days), and the job responsibilities (even if different posts were held in one department).

(b) A letter issued by that office stating the duration of employment (showing years, months and days) and the job responsibilities (even if different posts were held in one department) for work not shown in https://myaccount.csc.gov.mv/ from within Civil Service experience.

(c) If work experience has been gained in a private company or private organisation, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) and the number of staff at the workplace.

(c) If employed in a national or international organisation or association, a letter issued by that organisation stating the job held, the duration of employment (showing years, months and days), and the job responsibilities (even if different posts were held in one department) (this letter must state whether the post held was a salaried position or not, or alternatively a formal letter issued by that organisation stating this fact).

(b) If you have worked in an authorised government institution, or an authorised private company or private institution, or an authorised national or international organisation or association, then you must provide the job held and the duration of the job (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the job (even if you have worked in different posts in one institution) provided by that office, or if you do not obtain a written statement from the office, then reference letters indicating experience at the authorised workplace in schedule 8 of the recruitment principles.

About the employer

Hulhumalè Hospital opened on 7 April 2004, first as an outpatient service and then with 24-hour care from early 2005. It has been run under several governing bodies and, since November 2023, sits within the Malé City group of hospitals, directed by the Ministry of Health. Its services include an ICU, mental health and child development services, and an oncology centre. A new operating theatre complex and expanded ICU and NICU facilities are being developed.
