Main responsibilities and duties of the post
1- Carrying out all the work necessary to teach and teach in and outside the classroom in order to achieve the standards set in the national curriculum.
2- Planning and preparing lesson plans and classroom environment and other activities to enable students to acquire the "Key Competencies" specified in the national curriculum for learners.
3- Maintaining the practical work done by learners and preparing and administering various test papers for learners.
4- Marking learners' books and assessment papers, unit test papers, term test papers and related to the material taught, and also test papers conducted to assess or improve the level learners have achieved.
5- Maintaining records of student achievement and progress.
6- Sharing necessary information about learner progress with guardians, school staff and education sector personnel.
Requirements of the post
Teacher, Rank 1
- A Level 5 diploma or Level 6 advanced diploma / associate degree from the Maldives National Qualifications Framework (MNQF) in the field of education.
Teacher, Rank 2
- A Level 7 or 8 degree from the MNQF or a Bachelor's Honours degree in any field.
Or;
- A Level 7 or 8 degree from the MNQF or a Bachelor's Honours degree in a field specialised in teaching the subject, along with a Level 5 diploma or higher qualification from the MNQF in the field of education.

- A Bachelor's degree or Bachelor of Honours degree at National Qualifications Framework level 7 or 8 from the teaching field, along with a Master's degree at National Qualifications Framework level 9 from the education/teaching field, with 4 years of service in the post of Teacher, Rank 2.
or
2. A Level 7 or 8 degree from the MNQF in a field specialised in teaching the subject, along with a Level 5 diploma or higher qualification from the MNQF in the field of education, plus a Level 9 master's degree from the MNQF in an educational field, and 4 years' service as a Teacher, Rank 2.
or
3. A Level 7 or 8 degree from the MNQF in a field specialised in teaching the subject, along with a Level 5 diploma or higher qualification from the MNQF in the field of education, plus a Level 9 master's degree from the MNQF in an educational field, and 4 years' service as a Teacher, Rank 2.

Note:- Any person performing the duty of a teacher must hold a qualification above Level 5 of the Maldivian National Qualifications Framework in the field of teaching. Persons who have obtained higher education in the field designated for the subject taught, above Level 5 of the Maldivian National Qualifications Framework, and who have completed a General Teaching Certificate in the teaching field, may use that certificate when considering whether they hold a qualification in the teaching field.

- Application Form for a Completed Post (This form can be obtained from the Civil Service Commission's website and the agency's website, counter and the link below.)
- Details of the applicant (including contact phone number and email address).
- A readable copy of both sides of the card proving that the applicant is a Maldivian citizen (even if the validity period has expired), or if the ID card is lost, the applicant's birth certificate, passport or driving licence.
- If a staff member with a service agreement to serve the Civil Service / Government is transferred to this position, a letter issued by the office providing the service stating that there is no objection to leaving the position.
- Copies of educational certificates obtained;
(a) For educational certificates issued by institutions outside Maldives that have been graded by the Maldives Qualifications Authority at a certain level, copies of the educational certificate and transcript; or: in cases where there is no certificate, a copy of the letter confirming completion of the course and a copy of the assessment report and transcript issued by the Maldives Qualifications Authority.
(b) Copies of educational certificates and transcript issued by local educational institutions in Maldives; or copies of letter confirming completion of the course and copies of transcript.
- Copies of documents covering the following criteria providing work experience:
(a) If work experience has been gained in a civil service post, in a state institution, in a government-owned company, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).
(b) For work experience within the civil service that cannot be verified from https://myaccount.csc.gov.mv/, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period (in years, months and days) confirmed by that office, and stating the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).
(c) If work experience has been gained in a private company or private organisation, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) and the number of staff at the workplace.
(d) If work has been undertaken in a national or international association or society, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, and the period (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each). This letter should state whether the position held is a salaried position or not, or alternatively, an official letter from that organisation confirming this.
(e) If work has been undertaken in a dissolved state institution, or in a dissolved private company or private organisation, or in a dissolved national or international society or association, and a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period of work (in years, months and days) and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) cannot be obtained, the "Reference Check Form for Work Experience from a Dissolved Workplace" found in Table 8 of the Recruitment Rules.

Exception given when changing the position of an employee in the Job Metrics of Teachers at the current time
If an employee in a post under Teachers' Job Metrics (from that time's specialization) transfers to or retires from a Teacher's post in a Civil Service organization, the salary shall be fixed at the rank held at that time. And in cases where the conditions for a lower rank than the rank held at that time are met, the salary shall be fixed at the lower rank that meets the conditions. However, if an employee in a post under Teachers' Job Metrics transfers to or retires from a Teacher's post in a Civil Service organization of a different specialization other than the specialization held at that time, then if the "Educational Standard" stated in the School Teachers' Job Metrics is fully met, the salary shall be fixed at the lower rank that meets the conditions. And in cases where the conditions for a lower rank than the rank held at that time are met, the salary shall be fixed at the lower rank that meets the conditions.

- Assessment and Interview Location and Duration
The interview and assessment to select a person for this post will be held between 21 October 2026 and 29 October 2026, at Imaduddin School.

Within three days of the interview being held, the "Sheet of Points Awarded to Job Applicants (A2 Sheet)" will be made public at this office and on the office's website. If no candidate meeting the requirements under this announcement is appointed to a permanent post, a candidate meeting the requirements below will be appointed to a contract post for a period of 1 year.

Note:
- If a School Leaving Certificate indicating completion of Grade 10 or a letter showing participation in a Grade 10 final examination is obtained, it shall be considered as Secondary Education completed.
- If a School Leaving Certificate indicating completion of Grade 12 or a letter showing participation in a Grade 12 final examination is obtained, it shall be considered as Higher Secondary Education completed.
- If a National Qualification Level 3 certificate is held, it is considered as completion of secondary education.
