Main responsibilities and duties of the post

  • Creating user accounts for school staff, giving user rights, creating email accounts, and maintaining these.
  • Maintaining the device that monitors staff attendance.
  • Carrying out the work required to give staff internet access.
  • Installing, maintaining and backing up servers and storage.
  • Server room security and proper maintenance of the server environment.
  • Provide the IT support required by school departments.
  • Maintain IT network diagrams and inventory items such as these.
  • Assess the extent to which IT resources are used and keep a statistical record.
  • Carry out the work needed to procure items required for IT in line with procurement procedures.
  • Liaise with the relevant parties to publish items that must be shared on the office website.
  • Handle all matters relating to the school's computers.
  • Maintain the school's network.
  • Update antivirus software.
  • In addition, carry out all tasks assigned in connection with the office's official work.

  3. A readable copy of both sides of the card proving that the applicant is a Maldivian citizen (even if the validity period has expired), or if the ID card is lost, the applicant's birth certificate, passport or driving licence.
  4. If a staff member with a service agreement to serve the Civil Service / Government is transferred to this position, a letter issued by the office providing the service stating that there is no objection to leaving the position.
  5. Copies of educational certificates obtained;

(a) For educational certificates issued by institutions outside Maldives that have been graded by the Maldives Qualifications Authority at a certain level, copies of the educational certificate and transcript; or: in cases where there is no certificate, a copy of the letter confirming completion of the course and a copy of the assessment report and transcript issued by the Maldives Qualifications Authority.

(b) Copies of educational certificates and transcript issued by local educational institutions in Maldives; or copies of letter confirming completion of the course and copies of transcript.

  1. Copies of documents covering the following criteria providing work experience:

(a) If work experience has been gained in a civil service post, in a state institution, in a government-owned company, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(b) For work experience within the civil service that cannot be verified from https://myaccount.csc.gov.mv/, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period (in years, months and days) confirmed by that office, and stating the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(c) If work experience has been gained in a private company or private organisation, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) and the number of staff at the workplace.

(d) If work has been undertaken in a national or international association or society, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, and the period (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each). This letter should state whether the position held is a salaried position or not, or alternatively, an official letter from that organisation confirming this.

(e) If work has been undertaken in a dissolved state institution, or in a dissolved private company or private organisation, or in a dissolved national or international society or association, and a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period of work (in years, months and days) and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) cannot be obtained, the "Reference Check Form for Work Experience from a Dissolved Workplace" found in Table 8 of the Recruitment Rules.

Criteria to be considered for the person to be most suitable for this post

The matters to be considered in selecting the most qualified person for this post are included in number 12 of the Civil Service Recruitment and Appointment Criteria and Procedures 2023 (Second Amendment).

Note: The post will be filled by a candidate who obtains at least 60% (sixty percent) of the total points across all criteria.
