Main responsibilities and duties of the post
- Monitor the financial and administrative work carried out day to day at the atoll offices, coordinate necessary assistance from the head office to resolve any issues and problems that arise.
- Verify the accuracy of payment vouchers, invoices, bills and other financial documents submitted by atoll offices in accordance with financial regulations, and post and process payments in the SAP system.
- Check salary sheets prepared and submitted by atoll offices, and post salary and allowances in the SAP system.
- Review petty cash, expenditure, budget and other financial statements of atoll offices, and monitor budget allocation, budget control and budget utilisation.
- Review reports of income received and expenditure made at atoll offices, verify that accounts are reconciled, and identify any discrepancies.
- Approve requests submitted for obtaining goods and services needed by atoll offices in accordance with financial regulations.
- Verify that goods and services obtained by atoll offices have been obtained in accordance with financial regulations, procurement procedures and relevant laws and regulations.
- Monitor that the asset registers of atoll offices are maintained in accordance with financial regulations.
- Coordinate with the Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprises, relevant sections and atoll offices to resolve major financial and administrative issues at atoll offices.
- Coordinate financial training, workshops and capacity building programmes delivered by authorities targeted at atoll offices, and participate actively.
- Maintain databases, records and reporting systems related to assigned work, and compile information needed for financial and annual reports.
- Review financial and administrative work procedures and workflows of atoll offices, prepare and implement recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure that office work is conducted in accordance with laws, regulations and policies, and take active measures to improve office work and create a sound work environment.
- Working to ensure that office matters are conducted in accordance with law and regulations, promoting active engagement in conducting office work, providing assistance in improving office tasks, and working to create a proper working environment.
- Carrying out other official tasks related to the office assigned by the office.
Requirements of the post
- Be a qualified accountant recognised by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) with a professional accounting qualification (such as ACCA/CMA/CPA/CIPPA).
- Hold a qualification at level 9 of the Maldivian National Qualifications Framework in a field related to the work of the post.
- Hold a qualification at level 7 or 8 of the Maldivian National Qualifications Framework in a field related to the work of the post, and have 4 years of work experience in the field of work of the post.

- Copies of educational certificates obtained;
(a) For educational certificates issued by institutions outside Maldives that have been graded by the Maldives Qualifications Authority at a certain level, copies of the educational certificate and transcript; or: in cases where there is no certificate, a copy of the letter confirming completion of the course and a copy of the assessment report and transcript issued by the Maldives Qualifications Authority.
(b) Copies of educational certificates and transcript issued by local educational institutions in Maldives; or copies of letter confirming completion of the course and copies of transcript.
- Copies of documents covering the following criteria providing work experience:
(a) If work experience has been gained in a civil service post, in a state institution, in a government-owned company, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).
(b) For work experience within the civil service that cannot be verified from https://myaccount.csc.gov.mv/, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period (in years, months and days) confirmed by that office, and stating the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).
(c) If work experience has been gained in a private company or private organisation, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) and the number of staff at the workplace.
(d) If work has been undertaken in a national or international association or society, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, and the period (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each). This letter should state whether the position held is a salaried position or not, or alternatively, an official letter from that organisation confirming this.
(e) If work has been undertaken in a dissolved state institution, or in a dissolved private company or private organisation, or in a dissolved national or international society or association, and a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period of work (in years, months and days) and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) cannot be obtained, the "Reference Check Form for Work Experience from a Dissolved Workplace" found in Table 8 of the Recruitment Rules.

Note: Appointment to the post shall be made only if the applicant has obtained a minimum of 60 points out of the total points of all criteria required for the job.
