Main responsibilities and duties of the post

  1. Recruitment of Authority staff to posts, making them permanent, terminating them from posts, and all matters related to post conditions and agreements to be carried out under the direction of the Section Head.
  2. Daily maintenance and updating of staff records such as attendance, leave and salary records, maintaining staff personal files, and maintenance of other records.
  3. Preparation of Authority staff salary sheets and performance of administrative tasks relating to salary payment under the direction of the Section Head.
  4. Performance of tasks to monitor the standard of work being carried out by staff, and in providing support in rewarding staff from amongst the staff who are found to be performing to a satisfactory standard.
  5. Provision of assistance in staff development matters, setting aside a budget for promotion-related matters, and provision of support in carrying out administrative tasks related to promotion.
  6. Provision of assistance in studying the tasks that need to be carried out for staff retirement and in deciding on necessary arrangements.
  7. Assistance in the administrative functions of the Authority.
  8. Provision of assistance in implementing policies and Standard Operating Procedures relating to staff, and in implementing them.
  9. Provision of orientation to new staff.
  10. Arrangement of necessary allowances for travelling abroad by staff and related matters, and coordination with the Procurement Unit on matters related to obtaining travel tickets.
  11. Provision of assistance in promoting the social activities of the Authority and in fostering a spirit of unity and cooperation among staff in carrying out work.
  12. Provision of assistance in conducting studies necessary to improve the quality of Authority staff and in preparing annual Training Needs and Human Resources Assessment required for conducting Authority work.
  13. Cooperation in establishing a system whereby staff can be provided with necessary education, training and skill development opportunities within and outside the Maldives, and carrying out the administrative tasks related thereto.
  14. Maintenance of certificates and similar documents submitted in various training programmes conducted by the Authority, and maintenance of details of Authority staff who participated in such training and other training programmes.
  15. Provision of assistance in establishing a system to evaluate programmes conducted by the Human Resources Section.
  16. Selection of staff for courses, seminars, workshops and conference travels available to the Authority both within and outside the Maldives, providing assistance in coordinating travel-related tasks, and maintaining related records.
  17. Provision of support in obtaining necessary education and experience to enhance staff skills and capabilities for use in their work.
  18. Holding General Staff meetings, coordinating all necessary arrangements relating to the meetings, and maintaining daily written records.
  19. Carrying out administrative tasks of the Authority's Human Resources Committee.
  20. Provision of assistance in maintaining the administrative tasks of the Authority's Grievance Committee.
  21. Maintenance of administrative tasks of the Committee on Prevention and Elimination of Sexual Harassment.
  22. Working to ensure that office matters are conducted in accordance with law and regulations, promoting active engagement in conducting office work, providing assistance in improving office tasks, and working to create a proper working environment.
  23. Responding to letters, faxes and emails that come to the Section that the HR Section is required to respond to, such as letters and faxes.
  24. Providing support for work carried out by other sections and carrying out other official tasks assigned by the office within the scope of the section's work.
  25. Maintenance of written records and daily written records of meetings held by the Section.
  26. Carrying out work to keep the office open at the arranged time and as agreed.
  27. Carrying out other official tasks related to the office assigned by the office.
Requirements of the post

(b) Copies of educational certificates and transcript issued by local educational institutions in Maldives; or copies of letter confirming completion of the course and copies of transcript.

  1. Copies of documents covering the following criteria providing work experience:

(a) If work experience has been gained in a civil service post, in a state institution, in a government-owned company, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(b) For work experience within the civil service that cannot be verified from https://myaccount.csc.gov.mv/, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period (in years, months and days) confirmed by that office, and stating the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(c) If work experience has been gained in a private company or private organisation, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) and the number of staff at the workplace.

(d) If work has been undertaken in a national or international association or society, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, and the period (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each). This letter should state whether the position held is a salaried position or not, or alternatively, an official letter from that organisation confirming this.

(e) If work has been undertaken in a dissolved state institution, or in a dissolved private company or private organisation, or in a dissolved national or international society or association, and a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period of work (in years, months and days) and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) cannot be obtained, the "Reference Check Form for Work Experience from a Dissolved Workplace" found in Table 8 of the Recruitment Rules.
