Main responsibilities and duties of the post
- To check oxygen panels, pumps in the pump room, AC plant, and generator and electrical panels according to regulations and resolve any issues under the supervision of the supervisor.
- To resolve electrical and mechanical problems that arise in the wards and other areas of the Hospital during duty as per the supervisor's guidance and record them in the log.
- To perform the work according to the preventive maintenance schedule.
- To identify and resolve problems that arise in the Hospital's electrical network.
- To maintain tools and other equipment related to the work with care.
- To regularly check fire alarm systems and resolve any problems with the systems, and to check whether fire alarm systems comply with safety regulations and guidelines. And in the event of a fire alarm incident, to work with staff and employees to alert the responsible parties and ensure safety.
- To check oxygen panels, pumps in the pump room, AC plant, and generator and electrical panels that need to be checked once daily during duty, check their logs, and record in the log sheet; if any problem is found with any of these, to work with the supervisor and engineer to resolve the problem immediately.
- To perform the work assigned under a senior person designated as an Engineer or Supervisor of the Engineering Section and to report the details of the completed work to the supervisors upon completion.
- To resolve electrical and mechanical problems that arise in the wards and other areas of the Hospital during duty and record them in the log. If a problem cannot be resolved, to work with the supervisors or engineer to ensure proper resolution.
- In addition to the work to be done in the wards, to perform and complete the electrical and mechanical work of hazardous machines in the laundry, electrical equipment in the laboratory, mechanical and electrical equipment in the EMO, and electrical and mechanical work in areas such as isolation wards under the supervision of an engineer or a senior person designated as a supervisor, and to report the details of the completed work to the supervisors.

- A readable copy of both sides of the card proving that the applicant is a Maldivian citizen (even if the validity period has expired), or if the ID card is lost, the applicant's birth certificate, passport or driving licence.
- If a staff member with a service agreement to serve the Civil Service / Government is transferred to this position, a letter issued by the office providing the service stating that there is no objection to leaving the position.
- Copies of educational certificates obtained;
(a) For educational certificates issued by institutions outside Maldives that have been graded by the Maldives Qualifications Authority at a certain level, copies of the educational certificate and transcript; or: in cases where there is no certificate, a copy of the letter confirming completion of the course and a copy of the assessment report and transcript issued by the Maldives Qualifications Authority.
(b) Copies of educational certificates and transcript issued by local educational institutions in Maldives; or copies of letter confirming completion of the course and copies of transcript.
- Copies of documents covering the following criteria providing work experience:
(a) If work experience has been gained in a civil service post, in a state institution, in a government-owned company, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).
(b) For work experience within the civil service that cannot be verified from https://myaccount.csc.gov.mv/, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period (in years, months and days) confirmed by that office, and stating the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).
(c) If work experience has been gained in a private company or private organisation, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) and the number of staff at the workplace.
(d) If work has been undertaken in a national or international association or society, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, and the period (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each). This letter should state whether the position held is a salaried position or not, or alternatively, an official letter from that organisation confirming this.
(e) If work has been undertaken in a dissolved state institution, or in a dissolved private company or private organisation, or in a dissolved national or international society or association, and a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period of work (in years, months and days) and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) cannot be obtained, the "Reference Check Form for Work Experience from a Dissolved Workplace" found in Table 8 of the Recruitment Rules.
