Main responsibilities and duties of the post

  1. Cleaning and sterilising medical instruments and equipment from theatres and wards in accordance with hospital policies and standards, and packing and labelling them
  2. Separating unused medical instruments and equipment from those required for use
  3. Checking for any issues with medical instruments and equipment in use, and carrying out maintenance when required in consultation with relevant staff
  4. Ensuring proper functioning of medical instruments and equipment.
  5. Checking and maintaining all CSSD machinery
  6. Loading items required for sterilisation (over 10 kilos) and running the steriliser/autoclave
  7. Sending sterilised medical instruments and equipment to the required location after cleaning and autoclaving
  8. Keeping a register of medical instruments and equipment to be disinfected/cleaned/sterilised in accordance with NABH quality indicators, and carrying out maintenance
  9. Updating standard operating procedures related to CSSD
  10. Preparing, packing and autoclaving gauze and soap required for patient care in the hospital
  11. Maintaining cleanliness in accordance with CSSD cleaning regulations

Requirements of the post

Conditions for the post:

Holders of a degree from a nationally accredited institution in Maldives at Level 7 or Level 8 of the National Qualifications Framework in a field related to the work of the post, or a Bachelor's Honours degree.

Scope of work of the post:

Sterile Services

It is necessary to obtain the required licences and complete training for the position.

Possession of a licence registered with the Maldives Allied Health Council

Documents to submit

  1.   3. A readable copy of both sides of the card proving that the applicant is a Maldivian citizen (even if the validity period has expired), or if the ID card is lost, the applicant's birth certificate, passport or driving licence.
  4. If a staff member with a service agreement to serve the Civil Service / Government is transferred to this position, a letter issued by the office providing the service stating that there is no objection to leaving the position.
  5. Copy of current registration certificate
  6. Copies of educational certificates obtained;

(a) For educational certificates issued by institutions outside Maldives that have been graded by the Maldives Qualifications Authority at a certain level, copies of the educational certificate and transcript; or: in cases where there is no certificate, a copy of the letter confirming completion of the course and a copy of the assessment report and transcript issued by the Maldives Qualifications Authority.

(b) Copies of educational certificates and transcript issued by local educational institutions in Maldives; or copies of letter confirming completion of the course and copies of transcript.

  1. Copies of documents covering the following criteria providing work experience:

(a) If work experience has been gained in a civil service post, in a state institution, in a government-owned company, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(b) For work experience within the civil service that cannot be verified from https://myaccount.csc.gov.mv/, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period (in years, months and days) confirmed by that office, and stating the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(c) If work experience has been gained in a private company or private organisation, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) and the number of staff at the workplace.

(d) If work has been undertaken in a national or international association or society, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, and the period (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each). This letter should state whether the position held is a salaried position or not, or alternatively, an official letter from that organisation confirming this.

(e) If work has been undertaken in a dissolved state institution, or in a dissolved private company or private organisation, or in a dissolved national or international society or association, and a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period of work (in years, months and days) and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) cannot be obtained, the "Reference Check Form for Work Experience from a Dissolved Workplace" found in Table 8 of the Recruitment Rules.
