Main responsibilities and duties of the post
- Working with children aged between 15 and 18 years who have broken the law or regulations referred to the Department, in accordance with the Procedure Manual, including working alongside the children.
- Attending hearings held by the Juvenile Court, Drug Court, High Court and Supreme Court concerning children who have broken the law, ensuring the rights children are entitled to at these stages, taking part in court proceedings and preparing the assessments required by the courts.
- For cases submitted from atolls, going to the island concerned when necessary, assessing the child's and family's situation and working in accordance with the Procedure Manual.
- Sharing with relevant institutions, in cases of children aged between 15 and 18 who have broken the law, the work of involving these children in programmes run outside the Sharia system, providing the help needed for these children to decide on the programme, and monitoring them.
- In cases of children aged between 15 and 18 who have broken the law, transferring cases of children referred through the Sharia system and to Detection (Maldives Police Service / Office of the Prosecutor General) to the "Diversion and Reintegration Unit" under the guidance of the supervisor, and working with the Unit on these cases when necessary.
- Working in line with the duty roster, attending incoming phone calls, and, if required to attend any institution, attending, and if unable to attend due to a special situation, arranging a person who can attend on the supervisor's advice.
- Updating client information in the case tracking system after carrying out the work for all referrals of children aged between 15 and 18 who have broken the law and are allocated to the Department, updating court orders after attending court, and updating case work statistics after carrying out the work.
- Attending hearings held by the Juvenile Court, Drug Court, High Court and Supreme Court concerning children who have broken the law, ensuring the rights children are entitled to at these stages, taking part in court proceedings and preparing the assessments required by the courts.
- Taking part in supervision sessions and deciding important case-related decisions after consulting with the supervisor. Also recording that information in the file.
- Involving children aged between 15 and 18 who have broken the law referred to the Department in programmes run by the government to keep them away from crime, and in other programmes run by private societies and organisations.
- Taking part in programmes run by this Department and other institutions to reduce crime, and conducting and providing sessions and assistance.
- Taking part in sudden emergencies faced by the Department and in special matters in which all staff must be included, helping with the work, and actively taking part in and assisting with additional duties and responsibilities assigned by the office within the Civil Service regulations.

Holding a Level 7 or 8 degree on the Maldives National Qualifications Framework, or a Bachelor's Honours degree, in a field related to the work of the post.

2. Details of the person applying for the post (including contact phone number and email address).
3. A copy of pages of a Maldivian ID card (Identity Card) showing that the applicant is a Maldivian citizen (even if expired), or written documents that can be read clearly; or if the ID card is not available, a birth certificate, passport or driving licence of that person.
4. For employees with an agreement to serve the civil service or government, if transferring to a permanent post, a letter from the office where the work is being carried out stating that there is no objection to leaving the post.
5. Copies of educational certificates obtained.
(a) For educational certificates issued by institutions outside Maldives that have been graded by the Maldives Qualifications Authority at a certain level, copies of the educational certificate and transcript; or: in cases where there is no certificate, a copy of the letter confirming completion of the course and a copy of the assessment report and transcript issued by the Maldives Qualifications Authority.
(b) Copies of educational certificates and transcript issued by local educational institutions in Maldives; or copies of letter confirming completion of the course and copies of transcript.
6. Copies of documents as specified below demonstrating work experience:
(a) If work experience has been gained in a civil service post, in a state institution, in a government-owned company, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).
(b) For work experience within the civil service that cannot be verified from https://myaccount.csc.gov.mv/, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period (in years, months and days) confirmed by that office, and stating the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).
(c) If work experience has been gained in a private company or private organisation, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) and the number of staff at the workplace.
(d) If work has been undertaken in a national or international association or society, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, and the period (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each). This letter should state whether the position held is a salaried position or not, or alternatively, an official letter from that organisation confirming this.
(b) If employed in a Government established agency, or a registered private company or private agency, or a registered national or international organisation or association, the written confirmation issued by the office stating the position held, duration of employment and (in years, months and days), and job responsibilities (even if work has been carried out in different positions in different departments of one agency), or if no such written confirmation can be obtained, the 'Reference Check Form for Job Applicant' in Table 8 of the Recruitment Rules.
