Overtime pay: Overtime pay may be paid for days worked overtime, according to the method determined.

Main responsibilities and duties of the post

  1. Attending court with children under 18 whose cases are proceeding in the Drug Court, and attending meetings.
  2. Attending court hearings in the Juvenile Courts for children under 18 with no other cases pending, at the stage of trial, in accordance with the regulations, and carrying out the work required to protect the child's interests.
  3. Conducting home visits to the homes of children submitted to the Diversion and Reintegration Unit to assess the child's living conditions and environment, in order to carry out social work.
  4. Preparing and reviewing an intervention plan and conducting structured sessions for children submitted to the Diversion and Reintegration Unit, in order to carry out social work.
  5. Conducting sessions with the guardians of children submitted to the Diversion and Reintegration Unit, in particular in connection with individual cases, in order to carry out social work.
  6. Designing and running a positive parenting programme open to guardians of children in all cases in the section.
  7. Carrying out Islamic counselling sessions through the Ministry of Islamic Affairs for children in all cases in the section.
  8. Completing the tasks assigned to the Department among children submitted to the Diversion and Reintegration Unit under orders of the Juvenile Court in respect of the Juvenile Detention Centre, the Long Term Secure Facility, and children held at Maafushi Prison.
  9. Travelling in accordance with the schedule prepared for reviewing the situation of children held at the Juvenile Detention Centre, the Long Term Secure Facility, and Maafushi Prison.
  10. Attending progress meetings and review meetings in cases of children under probation orders, custody orders or conditional orders issued by the Juvenile Court.
  11. Sending a monthly progress report in cases of children under probation orders, custody orders or conditional orders issued by the Juvenile Court.
  12. Attending sentencing conferences for children eligible for probation orders, custody orders or conditional orders issued by the Juvenile Court.
  13. Participating in case conferences and review meetings, for children proposed to the Division and Re-integration Unit, whose cases involve diversion.
  14. Preparing psychological assessments to understand the mental health of children referred for diversion and children ordered by the court, and scheduling these sessions in connection with outsourced clinics to which they are referred for counselling and therapy sessions.
  15. Preparing and following the on-call and back-up duty roster. (During this period, attending hearings of cases, attending court, going to take statements, and carrying out work on cases submitted at short notice.)
  16. Taking the financial records of the DRR Section / Diversion Unit, sharing that information with the sections, and completing case tracking.
  17. Taking part in sudden emergencies faced by the Department and in special matters in which all staff must be included, helping with the work, and actively taking part in and assisting with additional duties and responsibilities assigned by the office within the Civil Service regulations.

Requirements of the post

A Level 7 or Level 8 degree on the National Qualifications Framework of the Maldives, or a Bachelor's Honours degree, in a field related to the work of the post.

6. Copies of documents as specified below demonstrating work experience:

(a) If work experience has been gained in a civil service post, in a state institution, in a government-owned company, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(b) For work experience within the civil service that cannot be verified from https://myaccount.csc.gov.mv/, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period (in years, months and days) confirmed by that office, and stating the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).
