In addition to this, if work is done on public holidays and rest days, additional payment shall be provided according to the prescribed rules.

Requirements
1. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Law (Level 7 qualification of the Maldives National Qualifications Framework).
or
2. Holding a Diploma in Law (Level 5 qualification of the Maldives National Qualifications Framework) and having at least 2 years of work experience in a related field.
or
3. Holding an Advanced Certificate in Law or below (Level 4 qualification of the Maldives National Qualifications Framework) and having at least 5 years of work experience in a related field.
Responsibilities of the post
- Assisting in reviewing laws and regulations established by the government and administrative procedures in light of human rights in upholding and protecting the spirit of human rights.
- From cases brought to the Commission, providing legal advice on cases where legal assistance is required by the Investigations Department, in accordance with the advice of the Supervisor or Director General.
- Providing legal advice according to the advice of the Supervisor or Director General to the reviews conducted by the Commission regarding whether the laws, regulations and administrative procedures in force are laws, regulations and administrative procedures established in accordance with human rights.
- Working on agreements made by the Commission with various parties and harmonising them in accordance with employee legal entitlements.
- Preparing documents required for cases initiated by the Commission and cases of counter-claims submitted to the Commission in accordance with the advice of the Supervisor or Director General.
- Representing the Commission in tribunals and Sharia Courts in cases initiated by the Commission and counter-claim cases in accordance with the advice of the Supervisor or Director General.
- Studying and providing legal advice and assistance in the Commission's participation in various international and regional human rights treaties and agreements, in the ratification of such treaties and agreements by the Maldives, and in preparing the Commission's submissions regarding participation in such treaties.
- If there are matters in the laws and regulations in force in the Maldives that contradict human rights, identifying such matters in accordance with the advice of the Supervisor or Director General and submitting them to the Commission.
- Participating in discussions held in the People's Majlis regarding submissions made by the Commission in relation to laws established separately by the government and laws in force in the Maldives.
- Establishing an environment for working together by maintaining contact with departments, government offices, as well as private parties.
- Providing assistance by participating in election monitoring activities, field work and media monitoring activities carried out to monitor events and demonstrations, participating in public awareness programmes, and participating in trips organized to disseminate information.
- Representing the Commission and providing necessary information by participating in national and international meetings, seminars and media programmes related to human rights.
- In addition, participating in trips organized by the Commission and actively participating in various activities and other work being carried out by the Commission.

2.1 If the certificate submitted is a course certificate issued by a centre in the Maldives, an attested copy of the original.
2.2 If the certificate submitted is a course certificate issued by a centre outside the Maldives, an attested copy of the original accredited by the Maldives Qualifications Authority.
2.3 If the certificate has not been issued, an attested copy of the assessment report issued by the Maldives Qualifications Authority together with a letter from the college or university confirming completion of the course.

- Curriculum vitae (C.V) of the applicant.
(The duration of experience mentioned in the CV shall be calculated based on the duration stated in the letters of work experience or work history for the position applied for. If this information is not provided in the letters of work experience or work history for the position applied for, the duration shall not be calculated.)
- Two clear copies of both sides of a card confirming that the person is a Maldivian citizen.
- If the person has previously held a position or is currently holding a position, official documentation showing the duration of the positions and the responsibilities of those positions.
The official letter must contain the following information.
- Letterhead or place address and phone number and email.
- Stamp.
- Name, position and signature of the responsible person of the place of employment or current employment.
(After the announcement deadline passes, no letter submitted and no letter indicating the period of work experience held will be given points in eligibility evaluation and point allocation.)

- Persons selected for this post shall complete a probation period of 3 months. After the completion of 3 months, the Commission shall decide on the continuation of employment in the post based on the performance during the probation period.
- If more than 10 candidates apply for this post, after administering a screening test to all applicants, 10 candidates shall be shortlisted based on the test results. Shortlisted candidates shall be given a theory test, and those who pass shall be called for an interview.
- The theory test for candidates applying for this post shall be held at the Commission's main office (M. Chandbaleevilaa (Star Clouds Building, 12th Henveiru)).
- If a candidate is absent on the day specified by the Commission for the theory test or interview for any reason, no further test or interview shall be administered.
- Persons applying for positions in the Commission shall be Maldivian citizens aged between 18 (eighteen) and 55 (fifty-five) years.
- A member of the Commission, or a relative of a member of the Commission, or a relative of an employee of the Commission (mother, father, sibling, spouse, child, nephew or niece, or cousin) shall not be eligible for a position in the Commission.
- If a person selected for this post is registered in a political party, they shall be removed from the registration of the party upon being appointed to the post.
