Main responsibilities and duties of the post
- Assessing the patient and their family history, and physical and mental health status.
- Reviewing medical information provided by other doctors and healthcare workers referring the patient.
- Arranging special investigations required to assess the patient's condition, interpreting the results of investigations conducted, providing care to the patient and making necessary changes to care.
- Monitoring changes in the patient's condition according to measures set for providing advice to the patient, caring for the patient, and arranging anaesthesia, mental health care, rehabilitation and protection by family members.
- Performing general and special medical operations necessary for care.
- Providing care for uncomplicated conditions that arise during pregnancy and labour and in the postpartum period.
- Collaborating with other doctors, other health professionals and team members to maintain complete written medical records of the patient and provide complete care.
- Assisting research and investigations in cooperation with state institutions regarding information and supervision of death management that must be provided in fulfilment of legal and technical obligations, and information on cases that must be notified.
- Informing the patient, families and the community about care and measures that must be taken for special cases that may require care in a specialised facility and matters related to such cases.
10. Conducting an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
11. Conducting research into special health conditions and cases affecting humans and their origins, conducting research into the care and protection of such cases, and publishing findings in scientific reports.
12. Participating in public health protection work and in developing and implementing programmes to promote public awareness.
13. Participating in improving and further developing the health service system and providing technical advice.
14. To provide specialist services in island-based health services for the specified duration in cases where such services are required.
To participate as a medical professional in councils and boards established by law, and in technical committees and boards included in health services, and in boards and councils that regulate health service professionals, and to provide advice.
