Main responsibilities and duties of the post

  1. Communicating with patients and their families and explaining the condition, conducting tests and treating dental diseases and identifying hidden problems related to dental diseases and mouth.
  2. Educating the public to protect teeth from cavities and to maintain overall dental and oral health.
  3. Assisting in reducing patient pain during dental care and assisting in reducing pain after dental procedures.
  4. Providing services such as implants, crowns and bridges for straightening damaged and missing teeth and providing orthodontic services.
  5. Providing services including dental extractions, biopsies and medical operations such as orthodontics.
  6. Taking impressions of teeth and jaw and selecting the size and buttons needed to perform dental prostheses.
  7. Designing and making spaces for dental services such as dentures and bridges and inserting them in the patient's mouth and providing instructions and prescriptions needed for fabrication for dental prosthetics technicians.
  8. Making sure that future needs can be met using prosthetics of the materials being used and the materials being received.
  9. Assisting in identifying common diseases such as diabetes in cases of health problems that arise in the mouth.

Educating patients and their families about oral cleanliness, nutrition and maintaining oral health.

Supervising dental hygienists, dental assistants and other team members involved in providing dental care.

Conducting research and publishing information related to principles and discoveries related to dentistry services in scientific reports.

(b) For work experience within the civil service that cannot be verified from https://myaccount.csc.gov.mv/, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period (in years, months and days) confirmed by that office, and stating the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(c) If work experience has been gained in a private company or private organisation, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) and the number of staff at the workplace.

(d) If work has been undertaken in a national or international association or society, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, and the period (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).
