Main responsibilities and duties of the post

  1. Implementing programmes to promote religious education in Saddan Region in consultation with the Section's staff, and performing administrative work for these programmes.
  2. Carrying out tasks related to issuing permission to members of the public at large mosques who seek to give religious advice and deliver religious lectures and sermons, and maintaining the record of persons granted such permission.
  3. Under the religious advisory programme being implemented in the remand homes every week, preparing a schedule of persons providing religious advice and sending it to them, focusing on TV channels and newspapers, and performing tasks related to providing allowances to such persons.
  4. Performing administrative work of the religious advisory programme in designated mosques after Asr prayer during the month of Ramadan.
  5. Maintaining a registry of scholars who have obtained religious education from abroad, organising special meetings with scholars, and performing all tasks that this Ministry needs to do in relation to scholars.
  6. Performing administrative work of programmes being conducted in schools/madrasas under the programme for promoting religious education.
  7. Performing administrative work of lectures and seminars and other such programmes delivered in the Maldives by scholars and persons obtained from abroad.
  8. Performing tasks related to taking measures against persons who have created conflict on religious grounds among members of the public.
  9. Sending details of persons assigned to provide salary at religious programmes being conducted from the 16th of each month until the 15th of the following month to the Budget Unit by 3:00 on the 17th of each month.
  10. Performing administrative work of name approval; entering approved names into the computer and making arrangements so that records are easily accessible to the public.
  11. Managing the arrangement and organisation of sessions, seminars/workshops/forums and preparing minutes and documents of such sessions.
  12. Noting various religious occasions that need to be noted by this Ministry and performing tasks related to holding sessions to note such occasions.
  13. Performing administrative work of name approval; entering approved names into the computer and making arrangements so that records are easily accessible to the public.
  14. Performing work of the programme for reviving the nights of Ramadan.
  15. Performing administrative work of programmes conducted in atolls for the purpose of reviving Ramadan.
  16. Conducting all matters assigned in relation to the office's official work.

(b) Copies of educational certificates and transcript issued by local educational institutions in Maldives; or copies of letter confirming completion of the course and copies of transcript.

  1. Copies of documents covering the following criteria providing work experience:

(a) If work experience has been gained in a civil service post, in a state institution, in a government-owned company, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(b) For work experience within the civil service that cannot be verified from https://myaccount.csc.gov.mv/, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period (in years, months and days) confirmed by that office, and stating the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(c) If work experience has been gained in a private company or private organisation, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) and the number of staff at the workplace.

(d) If work has been undertaken in a national or international association or society, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, and the period (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each). This letter should state whether the position held is a salaried position or not, or alternatively, an official letter from that organisation confirming this.

(e) If work has been undertaken in a dissolved state institution, or in a dissolved private company or private organisation, or in a dissolved national or international society or association, and a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period of work (in years, months and days) and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) cannot be obtained, the "Reference Check Form for Work Experience from a Dissolved Workplace" found in Table 8 of the Recruitment Rules.
