Main responsibilities and duties of the post
- Full responsibility to the Council and the Secretary General in all matters relating to the work of the Council's administration and the implementation of Council decisions.
- Upon being fully authorized to implement the decisions approved by the Council, carrying out all administrative tasks required for implementing such decisions under the guidance and direction of the Secretary General or Supervisor.
- Maintaining records of work assigned to the employee from among the information needed for monthly reports, annual reports and financial statements to be prepared by the Council, monitoring daily and sending them to the designated parties in coordination with the Secretary General on the set date.
- Keeping and maintaining daily records of employee attendance, leave and vacation, preparing all related reports and sending them to the designated parties.
- Managing matters related to employee registration, leave matters and maintenance of record files.
- Maintaining records of the attendance of administrative and temporary staff and monitoring their attendance.
- Managing matters related to salary payments and staff separations.
- Monitoring the functioning of the payroll section.
- Managing employee appraisals under the supervisor's guidance.
- Performing all tasks required as "P.A Officer".
- Managing staff development matters under the supervisor's guidance and monitoring the conduct of courses provided to employees.
- Identifying required training for employees, seeking training opportunities and preparing proposals.
- Under the supervisor's permission, arranging temporary Imams and workers to be assigned to mosques as needed.
- Respond to phone calls coming to the council office.
- Carry out all work of the Council Bureau in accordance with the regulations, in consultation with the Secretary General of the Council and according to the opinion of the Chairperson of the Council.
- Work in the Council Bureau, attend Council meetings, maintain Council Bureau records, and carry out all work related to the Performance Index, including maintaining the information needed for the Council's Performance Index.
- Prepare the hall for all meetings held by the Council, record the minutes and decisions of general and extraordinary meetings, maintain the minutes of meetings held by the Council with various parties, and maintain the information on those meetings.
- Record the minutes of the Committee for the Advancement of Women and carry out the duties assigned by the officer in charge from among the administrative work of the Committee for the Advancement of Women.
- Place documents sent by various parties and the government for the Council's agenda before the Chairperson of the Council, prepare the agenda as the Chairperson instructs, and, when the Council makes a separate decision, notify the decision and carry out this work, within one day of the Council's decision, together with the documents, in the section, in accordance with the opinion and consultation of the Secretary General.
- Enter, file, scan and archive correspondence received by the Council's office.
- Carry out all work necessary to procure all services and goods the Council requires, in accordance with the instructions of the Secretary General and in line with the laws, regulations and procedures set for this purpose.
- When the Council seeks to procure goods or services, obtain the quotations required for that purpose and prepare any announcement that must be issued.
- Maintain the inventory and stock of the Council office and the Treasury in accordance with the regulations.
- Performing all tasks assigned related to official work of the Council.
- The Council Administration shall be opened in accordance with a principle set by the Council Administration.
Requirements of the post
- A Level 3 qualification in the Maldives National Qualifications Framework in a field related to the post, together with a Secondary School or Higher Secondary School Certificate examination with a 'C' grade or higher in Dhivehi.

- A Secondary School or Higher Secondary School Certificate examination with a 'D' grade or lower in no more than 2 subjects, the Science examination or an equivalent, with a 'C' grade or higher in Dhivehi.

- Copies of educational certificates obtained;
(a) For educational certificates issued by institutions outside Maldives that have been graded by the Maldives Qualifications Authority at a certain level, copies of the educational certificate and transcript; or: in cases where there is no certificate, a copy of the letter confirming completion of the course and a copy of the assessment report and transcript issued by the Maldives Qualifications Authority.
(b) Copies of educational certificates and transcript issued by local educational institutions in Maldives; or copies of letter confirming completion of the course and copies of transcript.
- Copies of documents covering the following criteria providing work experience:
(a) If work experience has been gained in a civil service post, in a state institution, in a government-owned company, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).
(b) For work experience within the civil service that cannot be verified from https://myaccount.csc.gov.mv/, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period (in years, months and days) confirmed by that office, and stating the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).
(c) If work experience has been gained in a private company or private organisation, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) and the number of staff at the workplace.
(d) If work has been undertaken in a national or international association or society, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, and the period (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each). This letter should state whether the position held is a salaried position or not, or alternatively, an official letter from that organisation confirming this.
(e) If work has been undertaken in a dissolved state institution, or in a dissolved private company or private organisation, or in a dissolved national or international society or association, and a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period of work (in years, months and days) and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) cannot be obtained, the "Reference Check Form for Work Experience from a Dissolved Workplace" found in Table 8 of the Recruitment Rules.

The council deals with local matters such as water and sewerage projects, land allocation, reef access near Hanifaru Bay, and the island's school and health centre. It has said its current office lacks space and has asked for a new council building.
