Main responsibilities and duties of the post

  1. In addition to the activities within the Maldives Zakat House's mandate, conducting research on zakat collection, increasing zakat collection rates, and developing the zakat fund.
  2. Compiling and managing reports that need to be attached to the research conducted by the office, and conducting work related to publishing these reports.
  3. Preparing desk reviews relating to zakat issues and writing reports, reviewing documents related to the study, and contacting relevant parties for information gathering.
  4. Writing reports prepared based on studies and publishing these reports on the Zakat House website.
  5. Analysing reports prepared relating to zakat by foreign zakat organisations and providing that information to the supervisor to determine whether such matters can be carried out in the Maldives.
  6. Providing technical support needed for the work undertaken by other sections/units of the Zakat House.
  7. Carrying out work necessary to increase zakat collection and increase the rate of zakat payment.
  8. Organising meetings of various committees of the Zakat House, preparing documents, and undertaking the administrative work of those committees.
  9. Responding to letters that the unit must answer in accordance with the principles of the Zakat House, and ensuring that necessary notes, memos and documents such as CDs are written and sent.
  10. Preparing the unit's annual work plan, allocated budget and information required for the annual report according to the supervisor's guidance.
  11. Undertaking all necessary work and performing all assigned responsibilities relating to the official work of the Zakat House.
  12. Practically participating in special matters undertaken by the organisation.
Requirements of the post

Holding a degree at Level 7 or 8 of the Maldives National Qualification Framework or a Bachelor's Honours degree in a field related to the post.

    (b) Copies of educational certificates and transcript issued by local educational institutions in Maldives; or copies of letter confirming completion of the course and copies of transcript.

  6. Copies of documents covering the following criteria providing work experience:

(a) If work experience has been gained in a civil service post, in a state institution, in a government-owned company, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(b) For work experience within the civil service that cannot be verified from https://myaccount.csc.gov.mv/, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period (in years, months and days) confirmed by that office, and stating the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(c) If work experience has been gained in a private company or private organisation, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) and the number of staff at the workplace.
