Main responsibilities and duties of the post

  1. Before submission to the Judge Sharia Court Council for implementation, completing court documents and performing all necessary preparations.
  2. Obtaining a schedule of cases scheduled to be heard that day, identifying the people who should attend the section on that day, recording daily in the record sheet how the cases heard are being processed and the actions taken, what actions need to be taken going forward, checking whether the sheet has been signed, and informing the relevant judge of unheard cases.
  3. Admitting people attending the court, seating them, and after the court session ends, the court council dismisses them and releases them from the place designated for them to sit.
  4. Taking action to immediately stop any breach of regulations by people attending the court in the courtroom and within the court building, guiding those who breach the court conduct regulations, and announcing the court conduct regulations to those attending.
  5. Handing over people and documents in cases to the report section and documents.
  6. Creating files for new cases submitted to the section and scanning completed cases.
  7. Calling people mentioned in the statements made in the court council and recording the recorded proceedings by taking and typing the statement records.
  8. Filing copies of orders for appearance in court handed over to certain parties in the case file.
  9. Performing the Civil Court Hulhumalé Division section work under the judge's guidance in accordance with the judge's instructions.

Requirements of the post

  1. 'O' Level or equivalent examination passes in at least 2 subjects, and Secondary School or Higher Secondary School Certificate examination passes in the Dhivehi subject with at least 'C' grade

or;

  1. Passes in at least 2 subjects in 'O' Level or equivalent examination, and passes in the Dhivehi subject with at least 'C' grade in Secondary School or Higher Secondary School Certificate examination, with 4 years of work experience in the field of the post's work.

  3. A clear copy showing both sides of the ID card proving the applicant for the position is a Maldivian citizen. Or if the ID card is lost, the applicant's birth certificate, passport or driving license.
  4. If the applicant is a civil servant with an agreement to serve the government, a written confirmation from the office where the applicant is employed that there is no objection to leaving the current position.
  5. Copies of educational certificates obtained;

(a) For educational certificates issued by institutions outside Maldives that have been graded by the Maldives Qualifications Authority at a certain level, copies of the educational certificate and transcript; or: in cases where there is no certificate, a copy of the letter confirming completion of the course and a copy of the assessment report and transcript issued by the Maldives Qualifications Authority.

(b) Copies of educational certificates and transcript issued by local educational institutions in Maldives; or copies of letter confirming completion of the course and copies of transcript.

6. Copies of documents as specified below demonstrating work experience:

(a) If employed in a government institution or a government-backed enterprise, a letter issued by that office stating the position held, the duration of the post (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (with each responsibility in different posts in the same department listed separately).

(b) If employed in a private company or private organisation, a letter from that office stating the position held, the duration of employment (in years, months and days), the responsibilities of the post (even if work was done in different positions within the same organisation), and the number of employees in the workplace where the work was carried out.

(c) If employed in a national or international organisation or association, a letter issued by that organisation stating the position held, the duration of the post (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (with each responsibility in different posts in the same department listed separately) (this letter must state whether the position held was a salaried post or not; or alternatively, official correspondence from that organisation stating the matter should be submitted).

(d) If employed in a government-appointed institution, or a government-appointed private enterprise or private institution, or a government-appointed national or international organisation or association, and no letter is obtained from that office stating the position held and the duration and responsibilities of the post (as described for each department separately), the "Reference Check Form for Demonstrating Experience in Appointed Positions" in Schedule 6 of the Recruitment Regulations.
