Main responsibilities and duties of the post

- Preparing concepts for projects decided by Fuvahmulah City Council, preparing bills of quantities and preparing BOQs.

- Working as a site supervisor on behalf of Fuvahmulah City Council on projects ongoing in Fuvahmulah.

- Preparing reports related to projects ongoing in Fuvahmulah daily and handing over to the section head.

- While undertaking projects in Fuvahmulah, providing assistance to contractors on behalf of the Council and making decisions on matters to be decided by the Council on behalf of the Council on a daily basis under the advice of the section head.

- While undertaking projects in Fuvahmulah, monitoring and correcting the quality of contractors' work and informing on matters to be corrected on a daily basis.

- Providing assistance to surveyors in surveying places related to projects ongoing in Fuvahmulah.

- Maintaining information on problems encountered in projects ongoing in Fuvahmulah and changes made, and preparing and handing over relevant documents to the section head.

- Preparing a monthly report noting how projects ongoing in Fuvahmulah are progressing, completed tasks and matters requiring further improvement.

- Providing guidance on how work on projects run by Fuvahmulah City Council should be carried out and working to improve the quality of the work.

- Upon completion of projects run by Fuvahmulah City Council, preparing project completion reports and identifying matters requiring further improvement.

Requirements of the post

  • A Level 3 certificate in the Maldivian national qualification framework from a field related to the work of the post, or 5 years of work experience in a field related to the work of the post.

To be appointed to this post, a person must meet the following requirements.

  • Have the skill of supervising projects.

  5. Copies of educational certificates obtained;

(a) For educational certificates issued by institutions outside Maldives that have been graded by the Maldives Qualifications Authority at a certain level, copies of the educational certificate and transcript; or: in cases where there is no certificate, a copy of the letter confirming completion of the course and a copy of the assessment report and transcript issued by the Maldives Qualifications Authority.

(b) Copies of educational certificates and transcript issued by local educational institutions in Maldives; or copies of letter confirming completion of the course and copies of transcript.

  1. Copies of documents covering the following criteria providing work experience:

(a) If work experience has been gained in a civil service post, in a state institution, in a government-owned company, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(b) For work experience within the civil service that cannot be verified from https://myaccount.csc.gov.mv/, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period (in years, months and days) confirmed by that office, and stating the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(c) If work experience has been gained in a private company or private organisation, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) and the number of staff at the workplace.

(d) If work has been undertaken in a national or international association or society, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, and the period (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each). This letter should state whether the position held is a salaried position or not, or alternatively, an official letter from that organisation confirming this.

(b) If employed in a Government established agency, or a registered private company or private agency, or a registered national or international organisation or association, the written confirmation issued by the office stating the position held, duration of employment and (in years, months and days), and job responsibilities (even if work has been carried out in different positions in different departments of one agency), or if no such written confirmation can be obtained, the 'Reference Check Form for Job Applicant' in Table 8 of the Recruitment Rules.
