Main responsibilities and duties of the post

  1. Coordinating and managing projects and programmes being implemented by units.
  2. Gathering information and data for studies needed to incorporate all policies related to the water and sanitation system, and actively participating in practical ways in preparing study reports related to it and studies related to it.
  3. Preparing study forms and providing necessary assistance in formulating strategic action plans and sector master plans in accordance with government policy and consistent manner, and liaising with relevant parties to formulate actions needed for incorporating these plans.
  4. Setting indicators to study how the water and sanitation department's policy and strategic action plan are being implemented, sharing information with relevant parties and providing necessary assistance in preparing monitoring and evaluation reports related to it.
  5. Completing the work assigned under the sector work plan by the set date.
  6. Studying the necessary funds to be used and policies related to integrating the workforce when continuing water and sanitation projects established in islands, and providing necessary assistance in preparing related reports with relevant parties.
  7. Conducting necessary studies to identify what is needed to develop the water and sanitation department, preparing reports related to it, and preparing proposals needed to obtain technical and financial assistance.
  8. Carrying out work needed to make the department's policies and strategies known to the department's staff and the public.
  9. Attending and assisting in awareness programmes and workshops held regarding water and sanitation.
  10. Carrying out work needed to attend and participate in meetings related to the department's policies and strategies.
  11. Carrying out other work carried out by the department in accordance with a set manner.

Requirements of the post

Holding a diploma of level 5 or 6 or a level 6 / advanced diploma / associate degree qualification of the National Qualifications Framework of Maldives related to the post from a relevant department.

  5. Copies of educational certificates obtained;

(a) For educational certificates issued by institutions outside Maldives that have been graded by the Maldives Qualifications Authority at a certain level, copies of the educational certificate and transcript; or: in cases where there is no certificate, a copy of the letter confirming completion of the course and a copy of the assessment report and transcript issued by the Maldives Qualifications Authority.

(b) Copies of educational certificates and transcript issued by local educational institutions in Maldives; or copies of letter confirming completion of the course and copies of transcript.

6. Copies of documents as specified below demonstrating work experience:

(a) If work experience has been gained in a civil service post, in a state institution, in a government-owned company, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(b) For work experience within the civil service that cannot be verified from https://myaccount.csc.gov.mv/, a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period (in years, months and days) confirmed by that office, and stating the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each).

(c) If work experience has been gained in a private company or private organisation, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, the period of work (in years, months and days), the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) and the number of staff at the workplace.

(d) If work has been undertaken in a national or international association or society, a letter from that organisation stating the work undertaken, and the period (in years, months and days), and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each). This letter should state whether the position held is a salaried position or not, or alternatively, an official letter from that organisation confirming this.

(e) If work has been undertaken in a dissolved state institution, or in a dissolved private company or private organisation, or in a dissolved national or international society or association, and a letter from that office stating the work undertaken and the period of work (in years, months and days) and the responsibilities of the post (if work has been undertaken in different posts in one institution, the responsibilities should be stated separately for each) cannot be obtained, the "Reference Check Form for Work Experience from a Dissolved Workplace" found in Table 8 of the Recruitment Rules.
